Moxy New Orleans Downtown/French Quarter Area

Stayed at the Moxy for a few nights when attending a conference in NOLA. The hotel was fine - rooms are small but functional and there’s a 24 hour gym onsite. I had to move rooms on my first night as the noise coming from the air con was horrendous - it sounded like a plane was taking off in the room. The team at Reception moved me without quibbling however never asked why I wanted to move or apologised for the disruption, in fact they barely spoke. Unfortunately the second room was also very noisy however I stayed put as it was better than the first.

Firstly the best thing about this hotel is the people - from the minute we arrived, they were welcoming and friendly. The concierge was so helpful in booking trips for us along with other staff who suggested restaurants, directions etc. We chose breakfast in the hotel on one day which was OK and so decided to have breakfast another day as we were leaving on a trip and it seemed the obvious option; turns out they don't do breakfasts everyday which was not well advertised - and a little strange!! Anyway one of the cleaners clearly saw our confusion so suggested ”Mothers” diner across the road which was brilliant actually - the best pancakes we had in our entire trip in the States. Likewise the bar tender at the bar/restaurant is excellent. The only downside was that the hotel itself is a little tired and could do with some refurbishment and updating. Our room was lovely in terms of size and the bed was really comfy but some of the furniture was a little tarnished, the carpet somewhat dirty and the walls could do with a paint. But other than that, a good stay.

We fell in love with this hotel. The staff were all very friendly and the hotel was clean. Our room was amazing and huge with a sitting area that had a couch, chair, desk, mini bar with a sink and a TV. We had a separate bedroom with a super comfortable king size bed and plenty of luggage storage space. The bathroom was crazy huge and spotless. They have an interactive system for requesting lines or basically any need you may have. They also have a complementary breakfast, like a real breakfast, with scrambled eggs, sausage links and breakfast potatoes that was all delicious. They had a nice selection of bagels, breads and muffins as well. This is a great, funky, cool hotel and we highly recommend it.

There is really nothing to say about the hotel. During the epidemic, it is not only cheap but also has fewer people! The neighborhood is also very close to French Street, and there are delicious oysters, ACME restaurant is recommended, the seafood is really delicious!

This was a nice base for our business meetings (off site) - plenty of on-site amenities and numerous walkable options. The room was quiet - I had a balcony room over the pool on the fourth floor. If the pool was busier it might be a but noisy for the second floor (opens to the pool) but my experience was quiet. The only complaint I have is not with this property specifically, but with certain Marriott hotels. As many hotels have done, Marriott has transitioned to the pump bottles on the wall in the shower. This is fine, but the font size and contrast are terrible when you are trying to distinguish shampoo from body wash. Even with my glasses I had to get close, and without them it's hopeless. Other hotels have contrasting colors and larger fonts - that's really the only issue I had with my stay.

The hotel location is very convenient. You can go to the bus station within five minutes and go straight to the bus station. You can go to the airport for 2 dollars and take a bus around 20 minutes to the Mississippi Church and the French Quarter. Attention ⚠️ If I click on the church map provided by Ctrip.com, it will be taken to an old church far away and remote, instead of the church on the picture next to the Mississippi, I will be misled and pitted! !! Some areas are unsafe to avoid at night.
