Baymont by Wyndham Paducah

I booked this property on Priceline after reading some ok reviews. My son and I were traveling through after driving 10 hours from Alabama after picking him up from his Army Base to bring him home. We didn't get in until 12 and we were tired and weary. This was cheap and had some okay reviews so I figured for just a place to sleep for a few hours it'd be okay. Mind you, I'm not a fancy, picky or highfalutin traveler normally and I'm usually totally fine with ”budget” places. This hotel was so dirty and gross! Our fan made not normal noises all night, it was CAKED with dirt/dust, our beds had stains and spots on the bedding, one of the lights on the nightstand had a broken cover. The hallways were filthy with peeling wallpaper. I did NOT get a good night sleep and we got up super early just to get out of there. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone!
Fairfield Inn & Suites Paducah

This hotel is in an area with about 20 large name brand hotels. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. Free breakfast had fewer items than other recent Fairfield stays. Example - There was no bread for toasting. No waffles. No potatoes. Staff was super friendly. The closet restaurant is McDonald's. It is about 1.5 miles from the hotel. Lots of fast food and casual sit down restaurants within a 5 to 10 minute drive. Pool was closed for maintenance.

Holiday Inn has stepped up their game. It felt more like a boutique hotel than a chain. The decor in the lobby (I love the funky green velvet chairs!) and our room was very nice. The bed and pillows were great, towels were big, thick and thirsty. They do have an indoor pool but we did t have time to use it. There was a Keurig coffee maker, a microwave and a small fridge. What I appreciated the most was on every floor there were recycling bins. That appealed to my tree hugging self! The staff were absolutely incredible. Adriana, checked us in. She was wonderful and very friendly. . When we checked out, Karen ( def not a “Karen”) and Tyrese were great so a big shout out to them and the entire staff. . We really felt welcome there. The whole town of Paducah is pretty cool. Lots of cool art and vintage/antique stores. Everyone we met was a joy and the city itself was so clean. If I ever come back to Paducah I will absolutely stay here again. And, then I’ll make sure to use the saltwater pool.

This was my first time staying at this hotel. I could not believe how clean and quiet it was. Keirstin was a sweetheart. She was super friendly and helpful and made sure I had everything I needed. She also explained the map layout for me to get to my room with ease. That is going above and beyond. This is probably the most reasonably priced in the area. I would definitely stay here again
