The Commodore Rooms & Relaxation

My son (12) and I have just finished a stay at The Commodore and boy are we sad to be leaving! This is our second stay and again we were blown away by the warm welcome and the gorgeous decor. The commodore is a beautiful B&B situated right on the seafront, close to the pier, harbour and all amenities. It is self catering which is perfect for us so we can come and go without any time constraints and also offered a range of free cereal to choose from. Our room had a well stocked array of tea, coffee and hot chocolate and a fancy TV with Netflix, you tube etc (much to my sons delight) and plenty of plug sockets. The bed was super comfortable and had top quality bedding (my son said it was like sleeping on a cloud) We have throughly enjoyed our ‘little bit of luxury’ stay and looked forward to returning soon.

Wonderful stay, we were lucky enough to win a 3 night stay in the Isadora Duncan suite, we were warmly welcomed with a cream tea and a chilled bottle of champagne. The room is absolutely gorgeous and decorated in a beautiful art deco fashion, everything and more in the room with a spectacular sea view with a table and chairs perfectly placed in front of the window to admire the scenery. Fully functional en suite bathroom with a large shower cubicle, one of the best showers I’ve ever had in a B&B 😁. Fantastic tea tray in the room, fully stocked with everything you need and access to a wonderfully stocked kitchen for breakfast or just to grab a little milk if you prefer fresh with your tea. We had a bit of trouble working the radiators but this was sorted very promptly by the very accommodating host Helen, we were made to feel very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, I know we will be back. We loved being able to use kitchen facilities to prepare any food, help ourselves to breakfast when we wanted and come and go as we liked. It was everything that we wanted. The king size bed was very comfortable and the room also included a large sofa plus table and chairs. The view from the window over the bay was lovely.

Offered a lot, but not really as described, 'Breakfast included', yes ok technically correct but it was only cereals (pre-opened boxes), not sure how long they have been open, orange juice, bread & yoghurt. If you wanted a cooked breakfast, you had to go and buy it & cook it yourself!! In the communial kitchen you had an allocated fridge and cupboard,but you shared all cooking equipment, most of which was dirty, and covered in grease. The room was quite good, although the window handle broke when I tried to shut the window, a replacement handle was supplied, promised to be fitted, but never was. Helen (The manager) was very approciable and friendly and is an asseset to the B&b. Check the dates on the uht milk, ah least a month out, and open teabags in your toom, full of dust!

4 nights away. You could not ask for better. Room was so clean and comfortable with a king size bed and ensuite bathrooms.sea view. Help your self breakfast was included at anytime that suited you. Helen the host was also very helpful,and presented us with a surprise cream tea. What an absolute delight. Paul and Simon.

Lovely room with the greates view. And very close to all the amenities. Fully stocked fridge for a spot of breakfast in the morning. Will definitely go back there again. But will probably ask for the room downstairs.

We had a lovely time at The Commodore, the place was very clean, towels are provided along with drinks & breakfast, you just go down to the kitchen to help yourself to what breakfast you want, or you can put your own food/drinks in an allocated fridge for your room only. Helen the owner is very accommodating and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. We had a lovely seaview which was so nice to wake up to each day. There are shops, cafes & amusement arcades around the corner which leads up to the main town, where the train station is. And we had lovely walks along the seafront. Thanks for a lovely stay, we’ll be back again soon xxx

Just returned from a 5 night stay with our dog. We stayed in the Isadora Duncan suite which is a huge room on the ground floor with en suite, and sea view. Fabulous king size bed which is super comfy, and good sized bathroom with lovely shower. The continental breakfast stuff is provided in the kitchen and you just serve yourself, which suits us perfectly as my husband is not really a breakfast person and would rather go out to eat at a pub or cafe when it suits, rather than a set time. Room has kettle with teas/coffees and there’s more in the kitchen if you run short. We also had a fridge in our room which was very useful, I understand the other rooms have allocated fridges in the kitchen. Location is perfect as it’s on the seafront just a stones throw from the shops/pubs etc. our dog received a welcome bag with blanket, treats, water bowl and towel and she was made so welcome. Also, I noticed no hairdryer in the room so contacted Helen and one was provided with no issue. Brilliant place to stay if you like the flexibility to do your own thing, come and go as you please and not be tied to breakfast at set times. Thank you Helen, We will be back!

Had a wonderful stay here . 1ST Class service from New Owner Helen. It’s been newly decorated and tastefully designed . Helen is very attentive and nothing was to much. We highly recommend the Commodore . Even our dog Sky had lots of treats in the doggy bag Helen provided. 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. All round.
