The Star Inn

Quite alot of choice if you like burgers. No real choice if you want a meal with any vegetables, would of liked beef cheeks but they were sold out.Which was disappointing for a friday night as it seemed the only proper meal.Ended up having 2 starters. One being pork belly,unfortunately no crispy crackling, the other the scotch egg which was flavoursome. Overall our group wouldn't rush back,with the menu as it is. We visited the pub last autumn and all had a lovely meal. It seems the pub has recently changed hands.

Wonderful quaint inn, beautifully decorated. The food is absolutely delicious. Went for lunch, order taken quick, food arrived quick. Brilliant menu for kids too & a Lovely garden with seating out doors for summer too, where you can have food and a drink. Bar well stocked and very friendly staff. The chef is wonderful. Highly recommend

Popped in for a light lunch and was very impressed. Its cosy, friendly and reasonable. We shared a charcuterie platter with a bowl of the best chips I've ever eaten. Would definitely return when in the area.

We stayed just the one night at the Star which was good because we found that the bed was extremely uncomfortable as the mattress was totally worn out. The mattress was so worn that we could feel every spring so we both had very little sleep. We stayed here 3 years ago and the same very stained carpets are in place on the landing and in the room. We felt that the whole upstairs needed deep cleaning and all the carpets renewing. There were stains on a towel and the duvet cover. Both the evening meal and the breakfast next morning were acceptable and the staff, both in the evening and the morning, were excellent. If it were not for the fact that we had arranged to meet some old friends for a drink in the evening we would not have stayed ! At £80 per night B&B higher standards than those which we witnessed are expected.

We often stay in Pershore on our way from Manchester to Cornwall to break the journey. This time we thought we'd try The Star as it got some great reviews and was cheaper than some other places to stay in the area. Firstly we must say that the greeting we got from the staff was great - very polite, very friendly and very welcoming and helpful. The two great lads who were there on arrival get a star each. I'm afraid after that our experience was disappointing in the extreme. The carpets in the upstairs area were stained and dirty. We were in room 3, the windows of which opened out onto the smoking area. It was a warm night so we needed the windows open and were choking in our room with the smoke rising from the garden below. The bed was extremely uncomfortable with a very old mattress with springs sticking into us, resulting in a terrible night's sleep. The bathroom was clean which was welcome, but the shower advertised that you have to run the water for at least 10 minutes before any hot water will come through, so we ended up leaving feeling dirty and very very tired. :(

Staff, food, atmosphere, fantastic. Popped in on off-chance. Sunday lunch the best I’ve ever had. Attentive table service, whilst pub very friendly and relaxed. Reasonable price. Building very interesting….would love to know it’s age and read more about its history

Had a lovely 2 night stay at the star inn. All staff were so welcoming and we had a lovely New Year’s Eve! Thanks again to Bruce, Holly and others. Accommodation was lovely a cosy, nothing was too much to ask. We will definitely be back when we visit pershore next!
