Last week, my husband and I stayed at the Cliffs Hotel for two nights (3/26 - 3/28/24). I have stayed there many times since 2007 when my daughter worked at the hotel at the front desk during most of her college years at SLO. I have seen great changes occur over the last 17 years. The last time I stayed at the Cliffs was February 2019. I was incredibly impressed with how pleasant, friendly and helpful the staff members were to us. The hotel was impeccable maintained, and our room (#355) was the best location I have ever had. We dined twice for dinner at Mirasol and thought their food and service were superb. The valet parking was efficient and quick. The well-maintained grounds were simply lovely - and of course, what a view! Our stay was simply wonderful. The Cliffs Hotel has upped their game since 2019. We will be back!

Clean and comfortable room, at a price. The service was terrible. The Bell Hops were pushy. The front desk staff were smiley and pleasant but hopelessly lost if we tried to go off-script. Even the simplest request could not be dealt with. This place thinks too much of itself.

We will no longer be staying at the the Cliffs hotel. We have been staying here for years, and just feel like the experience is not worth the money. While we appreciate the dog friendly amenities, the dog friendly rooms are VERY outdated. We book a king terrace room and always request a specific room as the rest of the dog friendly rooms are very outdated. I spoke to someone on the phone who share they would put us in that room, but when we check in we place on the other side of the first floor. The bathroom is dated and VERY small, which is frustrating for a couple. The hotel started to charge for valet parking (20 dollars a night, which is insane). Someone who is going to the restaurant (only has to spend 8.00) can get it comped but I’m spending 1200 dollars and have to pay additional money. We have always loved the valet guys and felt bad because they’re loosing tips. During our stay a guest had some issues making scene by throwing items off her balcony. The staff handled is very well and police were on scene soon after. Since the restaurant open at 8:00am, we thought the hotel would have partnered with a local coffee shop to offer drip coffee to enjoy on the beach. We just feel like for the price for this hotel that they would offer more, and we continue to be disappointed after every stay.

I was really disappointed with the Cliffs. I expected more from this hotel. The pool and hot tub were nice and the views were great but they did not live up to the pics online. The bell hops took way too long to bring our bags to the room so my wife and I had to wait to go to the pool and hot tub. The Marisol restaurant staff were very friendly and did a delicious. Our waiter Charlie was very polite and very helpful in recommending things to do in the surrounding areas.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Cliffs in Pismo Beach and the experience exceeded all my expectaions. The Cliffs is a small personal hotel with all the amenities of a large Resort. The location is amazing tucked on the cliffs of Pismo with scenic Ocean Views. This Resort has something for everyone, from Families to Honeymooners. I was part of a Couples Mini Get-A-Way and I enjoyed all the amenities the Hotel had to offer.. I lounged at the pool/jacuzzi, had a massage at The Dia Feliz Spa and ate at The Marisol Bar and Restaurant, (Oh I didn’t even bother with the gym) this was a Pampered treat for me. Sitting on our Balcony watching the Sunset was unforgetable.. The Highlight of my Stay at The Cliffs was the people. Every Employee I encountered was kind, attentive and professional from the Front Desk to Housekeeping. What I will remember most from my stay at The Cliffs is how I felt. Being a Guest at The Cliffs made me feel like a VIP. That is an amazing gift.. to feel special.

BEWARE IF AN EMERGENCY COMES UP I have sent the Cliffs an email and request through their website with no response. My husband booked a room for one night for $550 last minute. Within HOURS, the next day, he called to cancel our room because our son was in the hospital. The person on the phone was very short and said he was so sorry but we did not cancel within their cancelation policy, no exceptions whatsoever. They did not care about my son, they were on the phone for 3 seconds and that was it. I have tried to reach out to them and ask before I posted a bad review to please refund us or at the very least give us credit, they do not care. They never even responded. I let them know that we are local and faithful customers to them. We have celebrated so many times at their establishment, they don't care. They don't care that they have lost us as their customers. At the very least respond please. I know your cancellation policy but at least respond, we did give you $550 Cliff's, let's do the right thing and give me an opportunity to leave you a great review.

If I could give The Cliffs, a 10, I would. What an amazing stay I had. Of course, the nice weather, along with the incredible help I received from Becky, at the front desk, made it even more special but the room, views, and amenities were wonderful on their own. I added this stop to my staycation to Pismo, after a night at each of the Cliff’s two sister properties, Seaventure and Sycamore. They were so nice, I wanted to try the Cliffs to complete my adventure. So glad I did. All three were great properties and all different. Check them out and take your pick, or do all three like I did. Rarely have I come across more pleasant and helpful staff, along with such awesome locations, than at these hotels.

I made my reservation in April for early check-in for a special celebration weekend in October. It was ruined with no sleep and stress due to staying at the Cliffs Resort. I checked in online Friday morning . When I arrived at the front desk to get my key the first woman I met at the desk was very rude and said it didn’t matter that I checked in online and requested early check in, I wouldn't get a room until 4. I expressed that I wasn't feeling well and asked if there was anything she could do so I could get a room and she repeated that I would have a room at 4. She told me to drive around until my room was available. When I returned an hour later and asked a different woman she said my room was ready. A couple hours after check-in, Management opened my door while I was resting without knocking before entering. No one apologized for entering. They just left. There was a do not disturb sign hanging and it was ignored. No one called ahead to ask if they could enter. It was very unsafe that management would come in unannounced. We notified management in person, by text and phone not to enter our room and they guaranteed that it would not happen again. The next morning, someone opened the door unannounced, without knocking, no mention of housekeeping or who they were. I opened the door, went into the hall, followed them and asked what they wanted. They had a Cliffs shirt on but said they didn’t need anything. They just ran down the hall. It was very disturbing. Shortly after that happened when I was in the shower, someone came in again without knocking or saying anything. Luckily my husband was there and told them to leave. I did not feel safe at any point during our stay. I did not sleep. The do not disturb sign was always on the door, we had multiple conversations, texts and calls with management and it did nothing to protect me. I’ve never had this happen to me at any hotel.

Stayed here for one night. I was surprised how nice it was! As you walk in the lobby you can see the ocean. Front desk was polite, valet guys so nice. It s$20 to valet. Can come and go as you want. We had 2 rooms, one kind facing the ocean and the other 2 queens facing parking lot. The kind facing the ocean was so nice, the views were incredible. It’s on a cliff and you can hear the ocean waves at night even with the slider closed. Bed was soft, clean. Room with 2 queens was just okay. Good for one night, clean and comfortable.
