The hotel is dated in parts and our room was a little tired although it was a superior room we overlooked wasteland and nort a sunny sea view we expected. However, the room was clean and the public areas spacious The staff were friendly and reception efficient

Couple ages 62/56. One week all inclusive+ January 2024. First visit to this hotel, which was recommended by our travel agent. Weather here in January can be varied. We had 17-22 degrees during our week, with some cloud some days. Hotel does some things very very well, but could improve on some things. Check in was quick and we were pleasantly surprised when we were told our room had been upgraded to a suite. The entrance is very large and grand, but as it sits on a hill, reception is on the third floor. Once you get the layout worked out, navigating around the hotel is reasonably easy. Our suite consisted of a living room with tv ( massive), bedroom (massive) with TV and bed (both massive). A walk-in wardrobe off the living area and a spa bath with shower in the bathroom . Mini bar with beer, wine and soft drinks and spirits all topped up daily. All very clean and functional, but silly things like 1980s sliding doors and blackout curtains that jam just before they fully block the sunlight just take the shine off. All inclusive+, gets a few benefits. Exclusive lounge, area in restaurant, 1 visit to a la carte and a very impressive selection of wine and spirits and mixers. Very unusual to get fever tree tonic on all inclusive. The buffet food for us was the biggest let down. Food choices were what most buffets supply, but only just warm. Standing waiting for fresh supplies coming out is not how I want to spend meal times. The wine however was superb. Our night at the a La carte wasn't much better. Food a little warmer, but not a great choice. The prestige lounge was excellent. All the drinks you could ever want, plus sandwiches and snacks. Even a PlayStation and some PCs. To sum up, room..good. sleep quality..good. drinks .. very good. Entertainment... good. Food..poor. Spa...good. And , if you can afford it, go prestige..... You won't regret it if you enjoy a drink.

Have been to this hotel many times. Last time before this was 2018. So disappointed. They are refurbishing part of hotel so not full capacity. All meals in pool bar. Obviously laid off staff because takes time to get a drink. No entertainment round pool except for 3 water aerobics in 2 weeks All food was quite cold even when first replenished. The water dispenser in pool bar was horrible warm water every day! Staff still very friendly snd resort spotlessly clean. Pool very cold Would love courtesy bus to carmen to do 2 minute detour to harbour as very steep and lots people saying they can’t go down there because can’t get back up. Taxi really not happy to take u such a short journey so felt uncomfortable getting one!! Food is definitely not same standard as previous years Can’t get coffee in pool bar restaurant in evening and can’t get soft drinks at lunchtime.

So to start with this hotel is absolutely amazing. On check in the staff were fantastic and extremely welcoming. The room was stunning and very clean, with great views. For an All inclusive holiday the food was fantastic, normally gets a bit boring but not here as they have different themes. Swimming pools are great with plenty of sunbeds so no need to worry about that. Evening entertainment was great in the show bar and piano bar. It's a few hundred metres from a beautiful little marine with great restaurants and bars. The only fault was that one of the restaurants was shut and being renovated so the main restaurant was a bit busy but we always were able to be seated.

This was my second visit to this hotel in 18 months, both times have been wonderful. As a single traveller, it’s so important to feel safe, and valued as a customer, and this trip did not disappoint. Previously, being a lady of a “certain age”, I’d felt a little invisible in the bar or dining room and actually mentioned this when I was leaving before, but not this time. Having all meals in the pool restaurant was a little monotonous, but I’d been pre warned about renovations and the food was good in the circumstances, and the staff did their best. I did notice some guests were more demanding than others, where they sat, their attitude to other guests etc. but the staff handled it all very professionally. Well done! There was plenty of room for everyone! My room and all the facilities in Costa Calero are very good, pool areas to suit all needs, spa, gym, activities etc, spotlessly clean and gardens beautifully maintained. I had a brilliant week, having met some wonderful people, both guests and staff, and am already looking forward to my return. Thank you to all!

We chose this hotel because of the lovely gardens and it did not disappoint. The pools were sparkling clean but a bit too cold for swimming in early May. Ignore the negative reviews about the food, there is loads to choose from and was never cold. Apart from a couple of grumpy bar staff, the others in the restaurant, reception and housekeeping were very friendly and more than made up for them. For the people who moan about the birds - it is an open air restaurant. You get the same if you go to the Caribbean. It can't be helped, so just live with it

Staff very nice & helpful, some young ones in need of training. Accommodation fine, being refurbished, odd furniture ie not matching no biggie. Nice architectural building, nice marina & restaurant down steps. Feel missold tho. 2 restaurants closed, only buffet one open, food absolutely shocking, tasteless & very little choice, especially if you’re a vegetarian, nothing if you’re a vegan lucky we aren’t or not as I said the food is shocking quality dishes up like it’s for animals. And I’m not that fussy about food but the taste choice & presentation were the worse I’ve seen since the 80s. Maybe they will improve after works but I definitely wouldn’t return.

Fabulous location, fantastic staff overall, fabulous swimming pools, good value for money, if you like watching tv in English it’s not for you as most channels are in German 🇩🇪 funnily enough, dining room birds didn’t worry us they live here, food got a bit monotonous after 10 days but mostly pretty good overall, piano bar has great views, the show bar had some great artists and some not so good, shame the good ones didn’t do long on stage, an hour at the most, normally queues at the show bar as I thought a bit understaffed there, also can’t really pay with cash or cards at bars , it gets booked to the room which I found weird but heyho , fab sea view from room and very very clean, cleaners are fantastic, overall a lovely hotel but a very quiet place to stay, although nightlife is up the road a cab ride away, in Puerto del Carmen, weather was incredible btw .

Well I had a lovely week here , I was so relaxed and chilled out and so sad to have to go home. The only thing I can moan about is a broken bin in the bathroom of our room , 177. Nothing else to complain about. Yes there were birds , I didn't care ,it wasn't a big deal . Everywhere is spotless ,all the beds were wiped down ,tables ,chairs ...all wiped daily. Everywhere is swept clean every morning , I never saw any rubbish anywhere at all. Food was lovely , so many choices . Beautiful salads , lots of pasta ,fish meat dishes . All kinds of bread , fruits ,cheeses ....I enjoyed my meals and so did my son ,who loved the spaghetti and sausages ! No complaints about food and you will always find something delicious. Breakfast is amazing , all different cereals and grains and yoghurts and I wish I had more than one stomach tbh It's all child friendly and wheelchair friendly. The marina is a 10 minute walk down hill , this is difficult on the return for wheelchair users or mobility problems . There is a little shop in the hotel that sells water and snacks and souvenirs. There is a great bus service into Puerto Carmen daily. We had a garden room, big and spacious, big bath . V comfy beds ,comfiest beds i have ever slept in abroad. Piano bar is lovely ,great musical entertainment most nights. You need cash for the safe deposit and towels but most hotels do this abroad and nothing to lose your head over, just take a bit of cash with you . Anyone who could get stressed at this hotel is probably a difficult person to please . The palm trees swaying and the beauty around you here is awesome. Lovely staff too , if you talk and smile to them you get smiles back ,all the staff were super friendly. Please go here and experience how lovely it is . One day I shall return ,I literally can't wait
