Fairfield Inn & Suites Rawlins

The hotel itself was nice, seemed recently updated and nice sized rooms. Good shower. Pool clean but very small. Breakfast was just pretty much just-pre-packaged sausage biscuits and cheese biscuits, yogurt and fresh fruits cut up into cups, and instant oatmeal with a huge assortment of toppings. There was a very nice woman monitoring breakfast closely and making sure everything was replenished before it ran out. Our room had only been partially cleaned. The beds were freshly made, towels had been replaced and it looked like it had been vacuumed, however it was very apparent that the bathroom had not been wiped down. The woman at the front desk seemed to feel terrible about this, but the hotel was booked. She stated that she would have given me a refund but we had used points for the room. She offered to come wipe everything down, but she also seemed to be the only person around, so we just asked for Clorox wipes and wiped it down ourselves. It was very apparent things had not been throughly cleaned in a while. The sink took some scrubbing and we got a ton of dust and dirt off the tops of the headboards etc. I know everyone seems short staffed these days, so it's every possible that housekeeping is just trying to keep their head's above water. If it were not for the cleanliness issue, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at the Hampton Inn, Rawlins, last night and had an exceptional experience. The front desk person was friendly and welcoming, the room was quiet and clean. We had free WiFI and a nice breakfast this morning. It was also easy to find, right off of I-80. They had a nice pool and hot tub area we did not use but some kids were having a blast. We will definitely be back!

We were stuck in Rawlins for 3 nights. Every employee from front desk, housekeeping, breakfast crew, all the above, went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. We were terrified after being on icy, dangerous, roads and they calmed us and warmed us with coffee. During the stay they had games, endless warm beverages, kept breakfast open late, and constantly asked if we needed anything. When the roads opened the housekeepers were going door to door letting guests know it was safe to travel. They gave us extra food for the road just in case we ended up taking longer than expected. They made sure when we left that IF we got turned around they would take care of us. I’ve never felt more cared for in my life. One of the front desk helpers was named Daniel. He was patient and full of grace.

Let me start with the reason for the 3 star. The check in experience was a little concerning. Check in is at a diner in the parking lot of this hotel. When we went in there were 2 ladies who were apparently having a bad time. The gentleman gave us our room. I took the keys from my wife and started to take the luggage to our room. I entered the room, the TV was on, the bed was not made and there were food items on the desk. Not sure if the room was still occupied or if they left and it had not been turned by housekeeping yet. When I left the room I saw the ladies that were at check in prior to us leaving the hallway again. They stated the first room they were given had people in it and the 2nd room has not been cleaned so they were going for a refund and we're going to look for another hotel. I explained about our situation while my wife went back to the ”office”. He gave us another room and when we got to that one, the room appeared good to be ready. Now, after the issues at check in, we were set in our room. Here it got better. The black out curtains were attached at the outside and had a magnetic ***** in the center closing off the window very well. The bad was very comfortable, room was clean and the shower has great pressure. These are the most important things for me in a hotel stay. As some other reviews state, this is not your typical Wyndham property, it is badged as Baymont by Wyndham, but is not anywhere near other Baymonts I have stayed in. Website says free breakfast but this is not the case. The office is off-site in the diner outside so it is a little strange. But once we got through the confusion at check in it was a good stay.
