We stayed for 2 weeks and enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It was our 5th time to Santorini. The hotel was lovely, really clean and staff were very pleasant. We stayed in a beachfront room and the room was great, however I do think some improvements could be made. For example, theres no where to dry your swimsuits/towels - the balcony is so big that I think they could put a dryer out there. There is hardly any storage in the room and the full length mirror is on the wardrobe door next to the entrance door so we could not see ourselves properly. I also had to hang my dresses on the the curtain poles as the wardrobe was too short to put them in. Breakfast was ok, comparing it to other 5 star hotels we have stayed in it was not a 5 star breakfast - coffee whilst nice from the machine but should have been served to you. Water was always flavoured too which I did not like. However all foods we sampled at breakfast were lovely. We ate at the restaurant a few times for lunch and the food was great value and delicious. Cocktails were €15 and made very well. Coke was €4 a can. There is a QR code on the sunlounger tables showing the pool menu - personally I found this totally pointless as you still had to get up and order your drinks/food at the bar - sometimes they would bring drinks to your lounger sometimes we had to take our drinks ourselves. I think for 5 star hotel they should invest in the app/QR code and allow the guest to order from their sunlounger, as we have experienced in other resorts. The sunloungers are extremely low to the ground so if you have mobility issues then you will struggle to get up off them - the beach beds are even lower to the ground than the pool ones. The sea is unusable - it is so slippery that even with beach shoes you will struggle to get out. I think the hotel should seriously think about putting a jetty so guests can enjoy the lovely water.

Santorini Kastelli Resort

We just stayed at this resort for our 5th year anniversary and this is what I have to say: Arrival Upon arrival we were picked up by mini caddy from the gate of the resort and driven to the reception which I thought was thoughtful after we've had a long flight and was quite tired. (they literally took our luggage from us straight to our bedrooms at this point). We were quickly greeted with a nice cold drink to cool off and given a brief tour of the facility. So first impression was first class. Customer service Everyone in the hotel was very nice (not a cliche: they really were). Dimitrios (front desk) gave us exceptional tips before we arrived and a very beffiting welcome surprise. Sabrina (from front desk) went over and above to ensure my wife and I had a pleasant and enjoyable stay with her amazing picture taking skills. Dimitra (from restaurant) did a fantastic job with teaching us one or two Greek words at breakfast every morning. (Breakfast was amazing btw) A few places we've been, you can tell staff are being nice because of a potential tip, but it felt different here. In my opinion staff at Kastelli resort are just genuinely nice and understand how to treat customers. Accessibility to restaurants. This resort is about 20 mins from the town centre, however, the back door of the resort leads to a beach with A LOT of restaurant options. (really didn't feel like we had to go the town centre, although we eventually did) Pool side and relaxation We really really really Loved the pool side amenities. They have 3 separate pools. A large pool, a medium sized pool and a decent -sized jacuzzi.. Really didn't feel like we had to go the beach side with their pool facilities to be honest. The sun hits you well, music is great, you order your drink and they bring it to the side of your sunbed. Room for improvement. All the English speaking TV stations are news to channels (the movies or drama) but who wants to watch TV when you've got amazing amenities and free WiFi.

We arrived after this hotel on a b&b booking with Jet2, after a 2 hour delayed flight at around 1.30am First drop off on the coach which was about 15 minutes from airport. Taxis outside airport if you want to have a quick get off which costs around €15 (we would have done this but totally forgot) If you are one of the last drops it could be over a hour to get to your hotel. CHECKED IN pretty quickly and was told we had been give an upgrade. We had originally booked a junior suite and was given a luxury maisonette with jacuzzi. (Room 206) These are split over 2 floors. On entering there was a huge queen size bed (very firm and didn’t help with my back problems) tv, dining table, 2 sofas which I presume you could use for further sleeping accommodation. A small kitchen with fridge (with 2 free bottles of water) small top drawer freezer, 2 hobs, kettle, plates cups cutlery etc. Small balcony with a table and 2 chairs Wardrobe with a few hangers. Iron and table top ironing board We also had FREE bathrobes and slippers. (I presume this is only certain rooms) FREE SAFE The bathroom was a good size with shower over the bath. (Shower could be on the cooler side sometimes but pressure was ok) Hairdryer, but it wasn’t the best. Complimentary shower gel, shampoo, soap and sponges etc There were stairs that took you to the top floor. Now these stairs were pretty steep so wouldn’t be any good for people with mobility issues Up there was another huge queen size bed, it’s own bathroom, toilet with stand in shower and outside on a veranda was a small jacuzzi. ROOMS cleaned daily with fresh towels etc. FREE AIRCON on both floors which worked amazingly and FREE WIFI which again worked good. POOL consisted of a main pool, smaller kids part to one side and a small jacuzzi to the other. Ample amount of beds (with cushions) as this is only a small complex it isn’t overcrowded. FREE POOL TOWELS to use also. There is a pool bar where you can pay or charge to your room. BREAKFAST consists of tea, coffee, fruit juices, cereal, fruit, toast, some pastries and cakes, cheese, ham, eggs, bacon, mini sausages and occasionally beans. Served 8-11am It wasn’t the best choices but there are places outside where you can get a full English fry up if you want one. SUPERMARKET there is a supermarket a few doors down, where you can get everything you need. SPORTS now if you are an avid sports fan like my husband, we found an IRISH BAR that shown most sport (just tv, no sound as music was playing) If you turn left out of the hotel, then second left (after the magic summer pool bar) and follow the road round for 5 minutes, you will come to the bar on the right (on a corner) The Kiwi Chinese restaurant is facing this Irish Bar and it’s definitely worth a visit. TRANSPORT we hired a large quad (with roof) from the bike shop called Moto Sellada (on the right when walking to the Irish bar.) Cost €140 for the day (had to return by 9pm same day) We travelled the is

Rosebay was an nice hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful, it is clean, good location (like 50 meters from the beach), nice pool area and overall environment, good gym and breakfast is ok. BUT, there is two problems that we cannot ignore. Many of the guests either go to the pool area in the middle of the night or wake up super early to ”reserve” the sunbeds. When breakfast starts at 7.30 am almost all the sunbeds were reserved 6 of 7 days of our stay. So we only had one day by the hotel pool (and we are not people who sleep in). And the area is not made for much more beds than there already are so we really recommend that the hotel starts with a ”no reservation policy”. The towels just laid there for hours and no one used them, such a waste. On our one pool day we saw a woman (with help from the staff) take away a hotel towel from a sunbed that had not been used for at least an hour. A while later the people that previously was using the bed got back and there actually was a huge fight over this. So, a ”no reservation policy” is a must here. And a second thing that unfortunatley drags down the score is the noice from the airplanes that lands on the airport that is very close by. We read that the planes does not land at night, but they do. And it is extremley loud. You have to be a very very heavy sleeper to not notice the sound. Even with earplugs (that the hotel does not provide) we woke up several times a night. This we imagine goes for all the hotels in this area tho. All and all a good hotel (we really liked the staff!) but som adjustments is recuired regarding pool area and sound profing.

Very nice room overlooking the pool, in fact just like the photograph - big and airy, muted colours, quite good storage and a very comfortable bed. We did have a few issues when we arrived, such as a broken toilet seat and a stained sheet on the bed - these were rectified very quickly when reported but really, housekeeping should have picked up on both beforehand. Towels were white and fluffy and like the sheets, changed regularly without us having to ask. A few improvements could be made - a hook for the hand towel and a proper hairdryer rather than the tube blowing hot air, for example. And who thought it was a good idea to put the safe at knee height right at the back of a cupboard. It is a very nicely designed hotel - most rooms look onto the pool which is a very attractive area. All sun beds were reserved by 8.30 although to be fair, most were occupied after breakfast. The pool is lovely although it would be even nicer if, like other hotels, inflatable toys were not allowed. On some occasions, it wasn’t possible to get in due to various shaped inflatables and noisy children/adults in the water - not the hotel’s fault particularly, but there were several groups of people there during our stay and they took over the pool/bar area. At breakfast time, some of them thought it was fine to walk in wearing just swimwear and bare feet - most hotels do not allow this. On the subject of breakfast, the paper napkins and table mats had a most peculiar smell not unlike manure - has no one else noticed this. The hotel is very near to the airport and planes come in low every day, making a lot of noise, but this didn’t bother us and we never got tired of watching them. The mini market behind the hotel sells virtually everything - very handy - and we hired a car from the place just along from the mini market for a reasonable rate. The resort itself is very nice with a long promenade and some very nice shops both along the promenade and in the street leading up from it. Something that did become slightly annoying on the promenade was running the gauntlet of the restaurant and bar staff who accosted us constantly, but I realise they are only doing their job. The beach. If you want a beach holiday, this is not the place. The beach is a disaster and those calling it beautiful must have gone to a different beach. It’s classed as pebble but it’s all sizes from shingle to pebbles to small boulders, and trying to get in the sea is all but impossible due to slippery and uneven rocks, even with beach shoes. Watching people trying to get in became a spectator sport for us. On top of that, the sea was extremely rough while we were there, making it even more dangerous. Disaster. Perhaps that’s why so many fellow guests stayed around the pool. Even the fact that most restaurants let you use their sun beds for free does not make it less of a disaster. Overall, a very nice hotel in a good location, and one we would stay in again if it were not for the beach.

We thoroughly recommend booking the Honeymoon suite with the jacuzzi. The apartment is beautiful. Location is one row back from the seafront, you have sea & mountain views and its quite private not overlooked. The only suggestion is the jacuzzi man to ring the bell before entering the apartment. The apartment has everything you need and beautifully cleaned everyday. Towels provide to use with Jacuzzi. Bed very comfortable, blackout curtains, slept like a baby. The owner/ host Tasos was lovely and available 24/7 if need be, arranged our airport transfers for us which we really appreciated. It was lovely to see Angelinas smiley face every morning on hand to answer any questions you have. Angelina made a great restaurant recommendation - Fistikies Restaurant which was our best meal & professional service during our stay, wish we had asked earlier as we would have eaten there again. You should book a table inadvance but they did manage to fit us in. Kamari has plenty of restaurants & bars, restaurant pressure can get abit overwhelming so do plenty of research before hand so you know which ones to try. The beach is pebbles no sand so sea shoes would be useful. Really enjoyed the snorkelling. Most of the sunbeds are owned by the restaurants, you can use free of charge you just have to purchase a drink or food, a beer was 4.50e. You must visit Oia, we booked a bus trip through Bus tours for 14e picked up at 4.30, leave Oia 9pm, which was more than enough time. Didnt want to get local bus as its packed and was worried wouldnt get on it after sunset. Unfortunately we didnt get to see the famous sunset as it went cloudy. We would book this apartment again in a heart beat! If you can, book the honeymoon suite. Thanks for everything Tasos & Angelina, Love & best wishes to you and your family Julie & Tom x

I enjoyed this cozy hotel that is a 2 minute walk to the beach and the main strip of of restaurants and boutiques next to the beach. A choice of hard boiled eggs, cold cuts, cheeses, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, fruits, cereals, yogurt, honey, coffee, teas and cakes was available every morning in a nice dining room. I was greeted with a warm welcome at reception and tours are available to be booked directly at the front desk. I had rented a car and parking was easy to find either at the front or at an open parking lot on the side street around the corner. The bus stop is nearby but I am so glad I rented a car to be able to see other beautiful parts of the island at my own leisure as the distances are quite long from you the resort town.
