I loved staying at Tavern hostel!
I really enjoyed Christi and her family company. I really felt like I was home. It’s an international hostel so it’s beautiful to meet so many different people from all over the world.
They cook delicious food and also organize wonderful tours for a really good price.
The place is really clean, the rooms very comfortable .
I will definitely come back.

Amazing stay! The hostel had an authentic and beautiful tibetan style, with great home-cooked meals available! The host was warm and friendly, and provided us with great tips for our travel plans. She was really helpful and spoke English very well😁

They are very kind and have rich experience and knowledge for the region.
They arrange several a-day-tours and multiple days tours and provided a lot of information. They also offer amaizing foods(we loved their Yak Burger and pork belly bbq)
The room was clean and cozy and we were touched how much they tried to help us and make sure our trip goes as we planes.
Defenately recommend the hostel

Awesome place! English speaking hoast with good local tips and great Korean food. Yak meat Bipimbap! K bbq on the wood stove, how cool 😎

I spent 4 great days in this Tibetan house, the beds are comfortable, the showers are hot and clean, the Korean food on offer is super tasty, but above all the atmosphere is incredible!
The owner Jun introduced me to Korean barbecue, and even took me hiking in the mountains around Shangri-La for the day, which was truly an unforgettable experience.
If I ever visit Shangri-La again, I’ll surely return to Jun and his family's home, as my stay here left such a lasting impression on me during my trip! I highly recommend it! 😎

Traditional Tibetan style home. Owners are friendly and the place is well kept. The food is delicious and location is right by the ancient town.

We had a lovely stay at the Tavern hostel and were warmly welcomed by Christin. The atmosphere was very friendly. Christin helped us to organise our way to Yubeng, book a van, and with buses and even a taxi to the bus station on our way back. It was very helpful to have an English speaker like her. We ended staying for 3 nights there and left a backpack there while going hiking. The room was very clean and cosy, equipped with heating and heating blankets. We also had drinks and dinner at the hostel. Delicious Korean food as the husband is also a local guide and Korean.
Thank you again. We hope to come back to Shangri-La!

Owner can speak English very well and I saw a lot of guest is foreigner that I can exchange language & culture during stayed at the hotel. If you wanna take one day trip like a trekking, you can ask owner. They will arrange it to you.

Great location, the owner speaks English and is very helpful. Warm and cosy atmosphere in the house. Breakfast can be served early in the morning. Hot water.
