I was worried about staying here after seeing the reviews. Here are my observations;
Whatever is making the overwhelmingly strong perfumed smell around the check in area needs to be either stopped altogether or replaced with something MUCH less strong. I had to kind of hold my breath at check in and still ended up having an asthma attack by the time I reached my room. It is offensively strong. I don't know if it is a plug in, incense or what but it is an incredibly strong scent and not good for anyone with allergies or breathing problems.
The painting of the trim black in the hallway and rooms was a good idea. However, it looks like it was done in haste and with no skill. It actually takes away from the appearance of the decor. It gives the impression that the building is poorly kept. It would be worth the time and expense to have it touched up. The poor paint job gives a Very bad impression. The hallway was the worst, but it was true of our room too. The rooms are actually nicely appointed with good furniture and tasteful decor. The beds are nice as well. But the shoddy paint job makes it look bad. Don't let an easy fix be the cause of lost tenants.
I didn't go to breakfast, but my husband said it was just awful. The few things offered were improperly prepared. Either under or over cooked to the extreme. The coffee was poor. A small breakfast is fine. But it has to be done properly with quality offerings. Invest in good coffee, even if you have to have a Keurig.
