The room is great! Love the space. But the soundproofing is horrible. I’m not one to complain about normal hotel room noises but our room is actually shaking. It sounds like a herd of elephants are running around in the room above us. And I don’t mean occasionally I mean the whole time I’m sitting here. I understand if there are little kids, but this is ridiculous. They must be jumping off the furniture. And the hotel can’t be built very well if it’s this loud. For the cost I expect better. I would have given 5 stars without noise.

Couples getaway last week at Shawnee Inn was so memorable. The Inn itself is a joy to explore. The management offers morning hikes, golf cart tours and a historic guided tour of the hotel. After a day of exploring and hiking the nearby parks, sitting on the porch in a rocker facing the mighty Delaware was a pleasant conclusion to the day. The Dinners in the a River Room were made special by the attentive wait staff. The trout was recommended and was a hit, fresh, and served with perfectly prepared mashed potatoes. The pace of the evening dinner was welcomed. The Gem and Keystone has a casual menu. Great choice, bartender makes a good Moscow Mule. We have dined there before, both outside and on the first two levels. This time we were seated on the third level.loved looking at the photos around the room. The room was second floor, back and gave us a view of a garden of Hostas, the largest we have ever seen. Beautiful when the sun was setting. Room was clean and had all we needed. The location of Shawnee Inn is central to many hiking trails. We discovered Tumbling Waters trail at the Environmental Center. challenging on the return side for us seniors but so worth two hours. Haley and all the front end staff are very accommodating and helpful. They enjoy working there.

I have stayed many, many times at this hotel so I figured I would write them a review. I have always found the hotel clean, quiet and cozy. Keep in mind it's a Super 8, not the Ritz and you'll find you get more than your money's worth. For the same price as other area hotels in the same class(ahem Days Inn), you'll get a friendly staff and safe atmosphere. Nice convenient location too.

We didn't stay at this motel . (we were staying next door at the Super 8) .. We can in only for dinner .. Had a very good meal and wait staff was friendly and helpful. 2 days later i notice a small error on the receipt ” call and spoke with manager and a few days later I rec. a credit on my card Thanking management for their help

This place is an amazing location for my short stay of four days. But it was just amazing after a long flight to walk into a hotel and be greeted by such a welcoming individual.The rooms were immaculate . I would like to take a moment to acknowledge your employees each and everyone of them for maintaining the hotel from the amazing woman that greeted you in the morning and set up that amazing continental breakfast to everyone who maintained your room clean and checked everyday to make sure that you had enough towels. On my last day I ran into a young couple who was checking in and I just had to tell them that they did the right choice on staying at Penn Stroud. This is by far the best hotel near here and yes I have stayed in many in Pa. Thank you all for your serve and the pride that each and everyone of you did in your working capacity.❤️👏👏
