"The hotel is in great need of renovation, it still hasn't recovered after the covid restrictions, the closet in our room was full of holes, the towels were old, the glass doors were dirty, there were a lot of nuances, the restaurant was open only for breakfast, a very poor breakfast considering the fact that there are no restaurants nearby at all. It is a big request to the owners to allocate money for the renovation of the hotel, because the photos on the website and the reality are very different. I want to express my big thanks to the staff, the girl at the reception was very friendly and helpful, during the misunderstanding that arose because of our cat, everything was resolved quickly. The hotel does not accept pets, but we were kindly agreed to stay with our cat. Everything was great for a 2-day stay, if you ignore all the disadvantages. Advantages : friendly staff, the location of the hotel is the first line. Cons: everything else"

Banyan Tree Samui

9.6/10
Amazing

Our stay at Banyan Tree Samui was a relaxing experience. The tranquility of the resort, together with the beautiful ocean-view pool villa, made every moment feel like a private paradise. Waking up to the stunning sea view and enjoying the serenity of our villa were undoubtedly among the highlights of our stay. One of the most magical moments was witnessing the sunrise from our villa. The panoramic view of the sun rising over the ocean was simply breathtaking and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and picture-perfect experiences the resort has to offer. It is a sight that we will cherish. A special thank you to Khun Note from the Octopus Kids’ Club. Her friendliness, warmth, and easy-going personality immediately made our family feel at home. She has a wonderful way of connecting with both children and adults, and her genuine care and cheerful spirit truly warmed our hearts and made our children’s experience even more enjoyable. We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to Khun Nook, who accompanied my wife and me on the morning resort jog and patiently taught me how to sail a boat. In addition to being an excellent instructor, he was wonderful company and a pleasure to chat with during the activities. His passion, friendliness, and positive energy added a personal touch that made our stay even more memorable. While the staff were generally friendly and courteous, we believe there are opportunities to further elevate the guest experience, particularly in terms of attentiveness and personalization. During breakfast at The Edge and in our interactions with our assigned butler, we felt that the level of engagement and anticipation of guests’ needs could be enhanced. Given Banyan Tree’s reputation for exceptional hospitality, we had hoped for a more personalized experience that would make guests feel truly special. We share this feedback with the utmost respect and in the spirit of continuous improvement. Overall, we left with positive memories and are grateful for the hospitality extended to us.

Hansar Samui Resort & Spa

Review: A Beautiful, Design-Led Oasis in Fisherman’s Village We recently stayed at the Hansar Samui, and it is truly a beautiful property with a thoughtful design. The location is perfect—just a short, pleasant stroll away from Fisherman’s Village, making it easy to explore the local area while still feeling like you have a quiet retreat to return to. The Highlights Dining Experience: The breakfast was a standout. I particularly appreciated having eggs made fresh to order; there is nothing worse than pre-cooked, rubbery eggs left under heat lamps, so this was a huge bonus for me. The Vibe: The swimming pool is lovely, and the beach is kept very clean. The hotel maintains a relaxed atmosphere, complemented by a great selection of background music. Service & Little Touches: The staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. I loved the ”turn-down” service around 5:00 PM, where housekeeping brought little chocolates and water—an adorable touch that made us feel looked after. Facilities: The gym is clean and well-maintained. Crucially for those working remotely, the Wi-Fi was excellent and reliable enough for me to take Zoom meetings without any issues. Room Design: The rooms are beautifully decorated with stunning balconies and views. The bathroom was a highlight, especially the large rainfall shower. Room Comfort & Maintenance We did have a significant issue with the bed. The mattresses are very soft, which didn't suit us at all as my husband has a bad back. It made sleeping quite difficult. However, the staff were wonderful and tried their best to accommodate us; they helped remove the mattress so we could sleep on the wooden base with just the mattress topper. While not ”luxury” comfort, it was much better for his back than the soft mattress. We also had a few issues with a temperamental toilet flush, but to the hotel's credit, maintenance was very prompt in coming to fix it each time. Dining & Logistics We had dinner at the restaurant one evening, ordering the Massaman curry and Chicken Panang. While the food was edible, it was just ”okay”—we were perhaps expecting a bit more given how high the quality of breakfast was. That said, the view from the restaurant in the evening is spectacular, and they occasionally have lovely entertainment. One small hiccup occurred when we booked a taxi through the hotel to take us to the pier for our trip to Koh Phangan. The driver unfortunately dropped us at the wrong port. We had to quickly catch a Grab to the correct one, but luckily we made it just in time for our ferry. Overall Despite a few minor glitches, this was a wonderful stay. The aesthetic of the hotel is gorgeous, and the professionalism of the staff ensures that any issues are handled quickly. I would definitely recommend Hansar for anyone looking for a stylish and relaxed stay in Samui!

Idyllic Samui Beach Villa Resort

Location: you need to immediately understand that you will need transport. There are a couple of cafes within walking distance, but we didn’t go to them, there weren’t many people there either, except that a couple of times we saw a few farangs having breakfast. Report offers delivery to and from the beach during certain hours. I don’t remember the price: either free, or for a symbolic fee, very low. They also offered to order breakfast and have it delivered to your villa: it’s certainly more expensive than in a regular cafe, but still affordable. We did not use this service, since we would have to plan breakfast time in advance (why?). The beach... we stayed during the daytime low tides, so I can’t say anything good about the sea, but the beach itself is clean and almost deserted. Surprises: we booked a villa with three bedrooms and a living room + a swimming pool. When looking at the photos of the rooms (at the time of booking), I could not understand the location of the room and also could not understand the privacy of the pool. Will the pool be ours alone or will it have to be shared with guests from some other villa. I even looked around on Google Maps, but still didn’t fully understand it. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised that this very villa consists of two separate houses between which there is a swimming pool (not small, but medium in size). One house consists of two bedrooms with separate entrances and separate bathrooms, and the other house consists of a huge living room, dining room, kitchen and bedroom + 2 bathrooms. Grandiose! Another patio. Of the minuses: not very stable wi-fi, TV is brooding. That's all. Air conditioners also do not cool as quickly as we would like, but this is the fault of the building design. A huge area of glazing which is made of single wood. If in the future we install normal aluminum structures with double-glazed windows, it will be possible to achieve a better effect from air conditioners + save on electricity and improve sound insulation. However, air conditioners do their job quite well. It was almost always quiet. Overall everything is ok. This place is worth the money. The owner, Lana, is very friendly and speaks perfect Russian.

Marasca Samui - Small Luxury Hotels of the World

My partner and I stayed at Marasca Samui for 11 nights. The hotel is quite new, built around 2024, and it truly feels like a quiet oasis in the bustling heart of Chaweng, right next to the clubs. We absolutely loved the well-maintained green pathway leading to the beach and the cozy lounge area, which was genuinely comfortable for spending time. The food in the lounge area was excellent and varied. The hotel is beachfront, with direct access to the sand, but it's important to be aware of the tides: the beach can noticeably shrink or almost disappear at times. The sea is usually very calm. The rooms are comfortable, with good air conditioning, making for a pleasant sleep; if you go to bed before midnight, earplugs might occasionally come in handy – they are provided in the room. As for improvements, the sun lounger mattresses and towels sometimes had stains, so better cleanliness would be appreciated. Otherwise, our stay was excellent, and we'd gladly return.

A Peaceful Haven with Truly 5-Star Service Our stay at Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui was simply unforgettable. This hotel is a true haven of peace where everything is designed for comfort, relaxation, and well-being. We stayed in a suite close to the sea, a charming little duplex with a beautiful terrace overlooking the ocean, and an outdoor bathtub that made every bath a memorable moment while admiring the surrounding nature. What truly makes this place special is the kindness of the staff. It was the first time in a hotel that I arrived at breakfast and the team already knew my name! Everyone is genuinely caring, always smiling, and ready to help. The breakfast itself is an institution. The food is incredibly fresh and of outstanding quality. My personal favorite was the fresh mango juice every morning … absolutely delicious! To conclude: if you are visiting Ko Samui and looking for a true 5-star experience with exceptional service and attention to detail, you are more than welcome at Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui.

Our expectations were high and in the beginning it really seemed to be living up to them. First of all the staff is incredible - polite, smiling and helpful. The management was thoughtful and caring and the cleanliness was of the highest standard. When trying to use the pool during the day you will find it's impossible. Thai heat simply makes it unbearable and there's absolutely no cover from the sun - in my opinion poor design of the pool area that should have been considered during construction. Another thing is ordering a cocktail by the pool you get it in a plastic cup for water with decoration being a single piece of pineapple. Even the cheapest bars I used to visit would try harder to decorate the cocktail and in my opinion for the price we paid here it definitely shouldn't be served like this. Just seems like low value for money - same goes for the restaurant: We were told there was a barbecue event at the beach but actually it was only the normal menu of the restaurant just like every other day - price is simply too high for the presentation of the food which was just average. Breakfast was also underwhelming and a huge issue for me was the taste of the coffee! I don't know if it's due to desalinated sea water used as drinking water but americano had a horrible salty taste that was impossible to drink. In my opinion bottleded water must be used for the espresso machine because as such it is undrinkable. Finally the location of the resort itself isn't the best, the beach is tiny and rocky and to get anywhere you need to be driven in a buggy which you need to book and then wait. Many times I've witnessed peaople frustrated and give up on waiting for it and walk instead, as we done a few times also. Unfortunately overall I wouldn't plan on returning again even though the staff is exceptional.

Me and my partner had the most incredible time at Silavadee! After such a long flight, we loved the welcome drink amenities including private beach and the endlessly helpful staff. Nothing was too much to ask. The included breakfast was one of the best I have ever had at a hotel in my life. The choice of food including champagne, freshly squeezed orange juice and extensive À la carte menu were incredible touches. I would highly recommend this hotel for a romantic holiday, or was mainly couples and it had a nice vibe. The free shuttle to Chaweng beach was perfect and meant we could go and grab dinner on the strip and then get the luxury minibus back. Honestly, this was the best hotel I have ever stayed at and would love to return soon! o

Receptionist insisted on taking a photo of my bookings from trip.com from my phone's apps, although she has sighted my bookings from their own system and also photocopy my passport already. This is really first time for me. Very wierd. Can hear planes noise as the airport is nearby. Also sighted 2 big cockcroaches in the room.

I spent a week at Cape Fahn, a private island resort in Thailand, and it was unforgettable. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the views were breathtaking. Dining at Long Dtai restaurant was a highlight, with exceptional Southern Thai cuisine and fresh seafood. The serene atmosphere and excellent service made my stay delightful. I can't wait to return for my next vacation.

During the Chinese New Year, hotel prices were outrageous. I unexpectedly booked this hotel, which had very few Chinese guests, and the price was very reasonable. To my surprise, the rooms were quite good, spacious, and both rooms had small balconies. The hotel environment was also nice, with two swimming pools, one by the sea and one outside the villas. The rooms were generally clean, but the air conditioning hadn't been cleaned in a long time; you could see a layer of dust in the vents. The hotel breakfast was a bit disappointing, with not much choice or variety, and no kids' meals, which wasn't very friendly for picky eaters. The hotel is within walking distance of a local restaurant with good reviews (recommended on Xiaohongshu for beautiful sunset views). Although most staff didn't speak Chinese, they were very enthusiastic. Except for one male front desk staff member wearing glasses. When checking in, I mentioned my early flight and was advised to pre-order a breakfast box the day before. However, this staff member kept trying to get me to book a car (a private van costs 700, the hotel charges 1000). I said three times that I wanted to order breakfast, but he acted as if he didn't hear me. It wasn't until I said I wasn't booking a car and just wanted breakfast that he told me to go eat at the restaurant myself! He had a disdainful attitude throughout. I've been to so many countries and so many hotels, and this is the first time I've encountered such terrible service.
