3-Star Hotels in Cologne

Hotel nearby many restaurants, walking to cologne Dom just 5 minutes. Hotel upgraded my room, Staff very friendly.

The hotel location was great, and so close to the subway for easy transport into the city. When I made the reservation, it did not indicate that parking was an additional fee, just that there was parking. Not that parking was very much, but I don't recall seeing a fee posted on the booking website, and it was jusy unexpected. The room was sufficient- a tiny bit smaller than expected. And the room had a slight sour smell, not sure if it was mildew or just stuffy from the winter west weather, but we were only there one night, so we didn't fuss. The check-in staff spoke less english than expected, but was okay, as my Deutsch was just good enough we could meet in the middle. Breakfast was a good spread and the attendants were plenty.

This hotel boasts an unbeatable location right next to Cologne Central Station, making it incredibly convenient for catching trains or exploring the city's attractions. You can walk to the main station and the cathedral in just a few minutes. The room layout is simple and practical, featuring a single bed, TV, and a small table and chairs – everything you need. It's clean and tidy, though the decor is quite minimalist and plain, without any extra frills. The service was standard; check-in was reasonably efficient, with no particular warmth but also no slip-ups. At around 650 RMB, the price is about what you'd expect for a central Cologne location. It's a good choice for travelers who prioritize convenience and don't require luxurious accommodations.

It's clean and nice! It's close to Cologne Cathedral, so it's great for sightseeing. The room has a lot of storage space and is special. :)

My stay at Essential by Dorint Köln-Junkersdorf was quite good overall. Here's a brief summary for your reference: Room Environment: The room was spacious and bright with excellent natural light, and clean and tidy. The bed was a comfortable firmness, and the bathroom had a separate shower and toilet, which was convenient. Dining Experience: The breakfast had a variety of choices, Western-style, including stir-fried vegetables and hot dishes! Service Attitude: The front desk staff were friendly and polite, and the check-in/check-out process was quick! Cons: We only checked in and checked in to park and unload our luggage, and the front desk said the parking lot downstairs was outsourced, and we were charged 7 euros for parking for over an hour!!!!! Later, we noticed that parking on the nearby street was free. Free water was only provided for check-in guests, but the amount was reduced~~~ It used to be a large bottle.

The Good: - Location is right in the middle of everything and few steps from the Cologne Cathedral and the Cologne Central Station. - Most of the staff were nice and helpful. The young lady (she had curly hair) and the Dutch man were amazing and friendly! - The room given to us was huge! It had a living room. - The price was affordable considering we went during peak holiday season with the Christmas markets open. The Bad: - We were on the 5th floor and the lift was only until the 4th floor. We had to carry our luggages up 2 flights of stairs to get to our room. Also the lift was tiny! It could only fit 2 persons or 1 person with luggage. - Heating was not working. When we arrived, we were wondering why we had 2 portable heaters (with 1 not working), we realised the radiators were not working! - The bathroom stank the whole room everytime we came in from outside. It seemed to come from the drainage. - The bathroom has a huge window (not frosted, no curtain) that makes you uncomfortable when showering! I had to turn the lights off at night so I wasn't visible from outside. And during the day, I had to crouch. - The shower cubicle was so tiny! I kept hitting the shower lever so the temperature kept changing while showering. I had to leave the glass door open so I can move. - The sofas in the living room had stains. - The king bed was actually 2 single bed beds placed side by side and I kept falling into the middle crack. - The mattress had a lump in the middle. It was uncomfortable. - There was 1 female staff (older lady), who was rude. We asked to collect our luggage we left after we checked out and she had this pissed off expression like we bothered her for asking. I had high expectations as I have stayed in Wyndham hotels before and this hotel was not up to par.

A lovely little hotel in a medieval style. The rooms are perfectly adequate for a weekend stay or an overnight trip. A big plus is the excellent breakfast buffet, which starts as early as 6:30 AM. It's also perfect for business trips.

Room was clean, spacious, and comfortable with good value for money. Minor check-in hiccup with an unclean room, but staff handled it quickly and professionally. Good value overall—practical, reliable, and convenient for short stays.

It was a short but sweet and very comfortable stay. Reception was very welcoming, nice and Accommodating. Clean, safe and a stone away from the Cologne Cathedral and Christmas Market. We were able to enjoy our time but will Definitely come back again with more days to stay in Cologne. Highly recommend and appreciate Accommodating us. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Disappointed in standard of hotel, on arrival was told all parking was booked out. Room on 3rd floor was small with unwanted extra bed taking up spare space. Bathroom was adequate with shower over bath which had a high step in and no handholds barely adequate shower curtain did not stop water spilling onto floor. Noisy location next to lift and noise from adjacent hotel late into night twice with patrons waking us up at 2am on return to room's. Breakfast was ok with reasonable choice, plenty of black coffee. Overall would not choose to stay again even at budget pricing.
