Freedom Design Hotel

This quarantine hotel is only 15 min taxi ride from Taoyuan Airport. It’s so nice to be able to wash off our 16 hr flight nearby after long quarantine procedures. The room is super spacious and is equipped with anything and everything. The service is 24 hrs and is beyond 6 star of any hotel we’ve ever stayed in. Strongly recommended. 離機場15分鐘車程。耐心的24小時工作人員真的提供了6星級的服務品質。房間什麼都有。非常暖心的飯店廚師的3餐讓被時差累到的我們非常舒服。飯店幫手Winnie不時送驚喜的點心來。小精靈們總是安安靜靜的送物質。強烈推薦。

The hotel's proximity to the Taoyuan International Airport (20 minutes by taxi) was helpful for someone arriving in early morning; its choices of bigger rooms (mine was the Executive Suite w/ Balcony) made the miserable isolation more tolerable. LINE is the communication tool of choice and the staff were very responsive, day and night. It was a bit of a challenging time for the hotel to respond to the evolving crisis outside when I was staying there (2021.5.14-29) because of the COVID-19 surge in Taiwan. I was looking forward to going wild with ordering all kinds of goodies from FoodPanda & UberEats, but the hotel ceased accepting outside orders on 5/15. While I ended up eating whatever meals the hotel provided, they were not bad—not great for people on special diets, e.g. low carb/keto/paleo (but that's a challenge in Taiwan in general). My room #5909 was at a far corner of a hotel facing a busy intersection; it wasn't too quiet, but not too noisy, either (my brother stayed at a single room that was quite noisy for him, as it faced a factory in operation 24/7; so it's good to ask about the room choices before you book). The room was quite spacious, with a big living area (with a couch and coffee+dining tables) and a bathroom with both a shower and a tub. The balcony was a life saver and worth the extra bucks—well, the whole quarantine thing was a waste of money, though, considering that I waited to be fully vaccinated to visit Taiwan but the government's policy did not catch up with changing vaccination rates around the world. (Meanwhile, they allowed airlines pilots to get out after three days of quarantine and spread the virus all over the island. Anyway...) Be sure to queue up plenty of movies and TV shows to watch to pass the time—the internet speed was adequate for streaming, though. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel, if you have to quarantine in Taiwan in the foreseeable future.
