Occidental Jandía Royal Level - Adults Only

Very welcoming reception from Márton with a glass of bubbly who explained how all the service works and hotel map etc. and all the staff throughout were friendly, polite and very helpful. Rooms are of a high standard with great views across the beach and free WiFi. As this was a celebration for my husband's birthday, we had a bottle of fizz in room not only on his birthday but also on initial check into room. Food is very tasty with a choice of buffet or themed A La Carte restaurant. Food selection is limited, but enough variety to enjoy each meal service with excellent wine choices for lunch and dinner. Spending time relaxing around the private pools and many terraces. We spent every night in the green bar and were looked after so well from Antonio and Aneta, both provided us excellent service. Antonio helped us learn so much spanish, and both remembered my husband's birthday and brough a cake with a candle and sang happy birthday, what a credit to your hotel these 2 members are. Weather in January is constant, and evening temperatures are pleasant. What a great way to spend my husbands birthday around a dedicated team of staff and management who made every effort to make sure our stay is perfect. Thank you. Would highly recommend a visit, and we will definitely be returning next year for his birthday.

Second time staying here, I've had a multitude of stays within the Barcelo/Occidental brand, it felt a little below par from expectations in a number of areas. Upon arrival at the Royal Reception we were greeted with an empty desk. No staff member, no sign to say what to do. Eventually someone friendly did come over from the main reception and greeted us warmly with a much appreciated welcome drink. We could have gone to the main complex reception to check in, but there was a long queue and... Why should we? If we have booked the premium hotel? The room we had has definitely been refurbished since my last visit. Modern and minimalistic furniture but that is exactly what it needs. The only main problem with the room was the AC - it was very poor. Did not cool the room down at all, and even after reporting it, still was not fixed. Whether this is cost cutting by the hotel or the "environmental laws" coming in to play, it made it very difficult to sleep at night when you are used to a cooler climate. The WiFi did not work at all, for the entire time we were there. Other guests were complaining about this, we just used mobile data but not everyone has that choice when away from home. Food in the Atlantico restaurant was fantastic, really really tasty and usually a very good selection! Unfortunately the food was never hot, unless cooked to order. When it was cooked to order, only once during the entire week was I asked how I would like it cooking (if applicable to that meat). Food is presented in porcelain dishes under lamps but it certainly is not effective enough to keep it hot. Then when the (quite small) porcelain dishes become empty, it took a very long time for them to be replenished. We didn't try the A la Carte restaurant as we are quite picky eaters and prefer to choose our own food but the menus did have plentiful choice and changed every night. The biggest concern here was the labelling - nearly all of the food was either labelled incorrectly, or not at all! This was a mild inconvenience to us but is a massive concern in an age where dietary requirements and diet choices are so diverse. Needs to be better! BBQ Event - don't waste your time. We originally went to book the BBQ event on Saturday and were told it was just fish. That wasn't our expectation or preference so we waited for the Wednesday night, which was a special occasion for us and also our last night. Unfortunately it left a sour taste in our mouths on our last evening. We were expecting a "BBQ" event - we were actually met with the same food that is offered on the buffet, on a smaller scale, and with two types of steak available for grilling fresh. No other meats, skewers, or even grilled vegetables. Chef did not ask how we wanted our steak cooked. None of the food apart from the steaks was hot, the lighting was poor so we could hardly see our food, and whilst waiting for our steak we were cut in front of TWICE by other guests who had ordered after us. Service was good occasionally had to wait for drinks when the regular staff were off. Royal level area was very relaxing by the pool and the outdoor jacuzzi. Good bar service. Food very good. Room very comfortable and was surprised that the hotel had noted my birthday and delivered some Cava with a card to our room. Very clean hotel and courteous staff. Would visit this hotel again at the royal level.

This was our seventh visit to the Royal Level and it was for my partners 60th Birthday. We had another fabulous visit, which I hope won't be our last. All the staff, from Marianna, Guest Relations Manager, to the Waiting Staff (Elena & Sonia) and bar staff (Nicolai on Atlantico Bar), to the lads in the Bar Verde, always went above and beyond to help you enjoy your visit. Every member of the housekeeping team always greeted you with a smile and a hello. The food, as always, was a delight and as always, too much choice!!! We certainly made the most of being able to try something different each day!! The drinks were top shelf and top quality, the cocktails were amazing. Thank you to everyone who made our stay a memorable one!!! Hopefully we will be back soon!!!

Had 6 nights AI in the Royal Level of this Hotel. The Food and Drinks were very good along with the Service. We would definitely be returning

Our latest visit to the RL & it continues to get better & better. Dedicated check-in at the Royal Level concierge was easy, quick, professional & welcoming. I cannot give the gentleman's name but he was from Morocco & he looked after us & made us feel very special indeed. Over & above. We'd requested an earlier check in & our SV suite was ready. All our requests were met in full. The suites have been refurbished in a modern style since our last visit & a good standard. I did prefer the previous most sumptuous style but everything was cleaned daily & replenished to a perfect standard & provided everything we could wish for. The mini bar service each evening was a treat. The lovely Atlantico restaurant has been extended to provide a more open terrace at the back which is a big plus. Food has always been good here but is now exceptional. Please keep all those lamb chops & clams coming, they were both out of this world, as was the goat. Wines still excellent. Service perfect, caring, friendly, hard working. You are remembered & greeted like an old friend. Bar service by the pool from the legend that is Nikola is just amazing. The star of barmen! Then of course there is the Green Bar. Better than ever, the service excels itself. I will say as I did last time, there should be a better separation between this & the rest of the hotel in terms of access as it should not be for the highly professional bar waiters to police this although when non-RL guest do make their way in, the wonderful Green Bar staff deal with it with perfect aplomb & style. We do little when we come here, we are here to relax & the RL bar area is the perfect place for that. Always plenty of loungers, towels, etc. The only fly in the ointment is the appalling Wifi which remained almost unusable for the entire 2 weeks we were there. It is a known problem over an extended period & the wonderful staff can do nothing to help, as it is in the hands of some IT company apparantly. This being the case, perhaps some warning should be given to guests beforehand, particularly those from the UK where due to BREXIT(!!) many phone plans appy roaming charges outside the UK. In a facility like te RL this really should not be an issue. But I stress this is not the faut of the staff at the hotel & I feel sorry for them having to field the complaints & queries. But apart from that, an absolutely blissful holiday as always here & we are anticipating our next visit at Xmas as eagerly as ever. Thank you for all making our holiday just pefect.

Excellent overall hotel .staff so helpful. We were very happy with all aspects of the hotel except for the Wi-Fi which wasn’t the best. Would definitely go back

Had a really nice relaxing time here. Very good service in the Atlantico restaurant and bar, where Niko makes an excellent mojito. On the subject of cocktails, some very good ones to be had in the Green Bar too. Mehdi and Marianna in RL guest services are both welcoming and very professional. Every query is addressed with a genuine smile; thank you! Didn’t use the spa or many of the other facilities as was wholly content just to spend time quietly chilling. Would be happy to visit again when the opportunity arises.

Pleasant experience will be back. Really enjoyed my stay. Although my previous stay was a better holiday.
