It was...meh. The family was very nice. The husband took a bottle of vinegar and left to spray our room while the wife checked us in, then he walked us into the room and showed us around, which was odd for a motel. after he left we realized it was probably so we couldn't see the condition of the front door. You could see through the bottom, which we covered with a sheet, and you had to push it open from the jamb to lock it, which meant it sounded like we were sleeping on the sidewalk. The air conditioner that doesn't condition air very well was old and loud enough to cover that, so it wasn't a big deal. Wendy's delivered chili with forks and nuggets with no sauce, so we figured that may be the worst thing that happened to us for the stay.
We weren't really bothered by the complete lack of a clock or any method to wake up, since we both decided to just hit the road early and stop tossing and turning.
If you need a bed for $111, this is the place for you. If you desire literally anything else, you should probably go elsewhere. The shower was cool. The lack of a place to put anything made it a bit awkward. That kind of thing. You can tell they tried really hard to turn a busted old motel into something nice, and they're almost there. Fix just a few more things and we'd be willing to pay up to $120 to stay. We didn't go see the breakfast. We were more frightened than curious. I'm sure it was lovely.
You get what you pay for. In this price range, it's 5-star.
