Best Hotels in Xishuangbanna

It's hard to tell from the website, but this is an office building for some of it, but seeming floors 5 and up are independent hotels, one per floor, although they seem to share a common laundry facility on floor 5 which is also where the amazing pool is. With the pool, there are no changing facilities there, so you have to have flip flops and a big towel to go back to the room on floor 16, or get your clothes wet. The room itself was pretty good, the balcony was nice and had good views, although it wasn't as clean as I'd have liked - the slippers didn't look like they are sterilised between uses, so I wore my socks around the room and they were filthy when I took them off. Definitely wouldn't have wanted to put them into my shoes! The biggest disappointment with the room is that they don't provide real towels, only single use disposable towels, which aren't quite sufficient to get dry, and only one big and one small per person. The shower door also wasn't sealed at the bottom so when I went to the toilet later, I discovered a massive puddle that soaked my sock, and obviously I had no spare towel to dry my feet. Also, it made going to the swimming pool really inconvenient. All the other guests at the pool had normal hotel style bath towels, so it seems this is the only hotel that doesn't bother with them... Finally, it's hard to get to from the main road, you have to pull your luggage 600m from the bus stop, and if you get a taxi, the area around here is really congested so they take a long time to come (over 10 minutes for Didi).

If you are willing to walk for 20 minutes, you can also walk to the Starlight Night Market. The room facilities are fully equipped. You can cook simple meals. Butler service is also very good. Since we are traveling to celebrate the Chinese New Year, I would like to make a small suggestion. The pot can be equipped with a lid. It is very inconvenient to cook dumplings without a pot lid. In addition, dish soap should be prepared for convenience. After all, guests are expected to clean the kitchen themselves.

Absolutely fantastic experience. The room was incredibly high-tech with face-unlock doors, a projector for watching movies, automatic blinds and a toilet straight out of a spaceship. There was even a comprehensive clothes washing service that meant we would come back to our room to find everything dry and neatly hung up. The breakfast was much better than the average hotel buffet with plenty of fresh fruit and a wide variety of mainland dishes as well as a few local dishes. Every single member of staff was willing to go to great lengths to help us regardless of the request. One evening after myself and my partner were injured in an ebike accident (be careful on those roads!) I was badly grazed in several places, showed up to the hotel covered in blood and dust. One member of staff dived behind the counter and produced a box of antiseptic swabs and plasters. Realising these wouldn't be enough for the size of the wounds he escorted us to a walk-in centre using the hotel transport shuttles and accompanied us inside. After being turned away (they didn't treat injuries) the hotel shuttle drove us to a pharmacy and waited outside while we were talked through the available options (bandages, disinfectants etc) all the while telling us personal stories of e-bike related misfortune. That's just one of many examples of outstanding service, truly impressed.

The location of the hotel is in the city center. It is convenient to go everywhere. There is a RT-Mart supermarket next to it. The rooms are very clean. We booked two rooms. One facing the street has a little noise from the street. The other one facing inside is much better. Call the front desk guy before booking. We were told that it was within the acceptable range. The breakfast was also very good. Overall, I felt that the price/performance ratio was very good. I read the reviews before booking and I was a little worried. After checking in, the situation was not as good as what I read in the reviews.

This has been such a wonderful stay! The hotel staff were so polite and friendly in every interaction. Dana, one of the receptionists, added me on WeChat at check-in and messaged to ask if there was anything we needed each day of our stay! (My Chinese speaking skills are not great.) The room was very clean and our balcony overlooked the pool. The breakfast buffet offered many options. The hot springs were very relaxing and there were many outdoor pools of varying temperatures, so it did not feel crowded at all. There's a wonderful 'park' about a five minute walk up the hill with a hiking trail that leads to the top of a hill/small mountain and offers a beautiful view. Very peaceful and relaxing. There are a number of hammocks and swings on the way to the viewpoint. There are also other places to walk, nice viewpoints, what looked to be an obstacle course, a pink sand area, and more at the 'park.' We chose to eat our dinners at nearby restaurants - there is one affordable lakefront restaurant about a fifteen minute walk down the hill that we liked a lot. The hotel has several golf carts that depart/arrive from the lobby entrance if you want them to take you to the hot springs or the restaurants area. You can call the hotel and they'll come pick you up as well. Although this hotel is not close to the main Xishuangbanna tourist attractions, it is the perfect place to stay if you're looking for fantastic service, beautiful facilities, and a relaxing trip. I would absolutely stay here again!
