For just 2 yuan, you can marvel at ancient architecture over 600 years old at the small yet exquisite Workers' Cultural Palace

Right next to the Forbidden City, there are actually two lesser-known but wonderful parks, one is Zhongshan Park, and the other is the Workers' Cultural Palace. Don't be fooled by the plain name of the Cultural Palace; it houses the ancient Temple of Earth and ancient trees planted by Emperor Yongle himself. The greenery inside is lush and the atmosphere is serene and comfortable, making it seem like a cool retreat in the summer. The forsythia flowers are blooming nicely, and the cats are quite haughty. Although I didn't encounter the Forbidden City's cats, seeing the cats at the Temple of Earth is also quite delightful.
