Nan Lian Park opened to the public in 2006 and has been one of the most beautiful locations to spend time in since. It is 3. The 5 hectare monastery garden is designed in Tang Dynasty style with hills, stone structures, bridges, pavilions and ponds. The park is free to visit and is open from 07:00 to 21:00 daily. Nan Lian's various exhibition galleries are open from 10:00 to 17:00 daily. What you find here is a traditional Chinese landscape garden, a quiet and serene place, especially when the weather is cooler outside, allowing for a long and comfortable visit. Within the grounds, you'll find the Blue Pond with a large koy fish, a traditional bridge, waterwheel and waterfall over a vegetarian restaurant, an architecturally attractive ceremonial tea house, a snack shop, several exhibition galleries and a gift shop. There are many manicured shrubs, bonsai like trees, large rocks and fine worn water nestled among the trees and other greenery. Perhaps the highlight is the delightful Pavilion of Absolute Perfection, gilded in bright gold and nestled on a small island in one of the pools, connected by a bright orange foot bridge. This is for viewing only and cannot be entered. However, you will want to take some pictures of this very beautiful structure. You can easily spend an hour or two leisurely strolling the Nan Lian Gardens. However, you'll want to add some more time to walk over the bridge to the associated Chi Lin Women's Monastery which is just across the street. This is an equally beautiful and impressive attraction that is free to visit and has the same opening hours.
