World Devil City

World Devil City is a natural scenic spot centered on Yardang landforms, located at No. 200 Longji Road, Wuerhe District, Karamay City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, People's Republic of China. It is a national AAAAA level tourist attraction with a total area of 260 square kilometers. In the World Devil City, you can see the Cretaceous strata composed of gray-green, brown-red mudstone, sandy mudstone, sandstone, and conglomerate, which have formed various shapes and strange shapes under the long-term wind erosion and intermittent water erosion. The scenic area was awarded the title of scenic spot in 2004, rated as a national AAAA scenic spot in 2008, and upgraded to a national AAAAA scenic spot in 2020. In addition to the Yardang landforms, the scenic area also has Dinosaur Valley, which was built due to the discovery of dinosaur fossils such as Wei's Zhungar winged dragon fossils in the Devil City area, and the oil field experience area built due to the exploration and development of oil fields and natural asphalt mines in the Devil City area. There are also attractions opened due to the filming locations of the movie 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' and the TV series 'Seven Swords Descend from Tianshan'. In addition, there are powered paragliding projects during the day in the scenic area, and at night, the scenic area will hold light shows and other projects. The World Devil City will also hold entertainment activities such as poetry evenings and sports events such as wild challenges. World Devil City is also the first batch of autonomous region-level civilized tourism demonstration units in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the 'China Sports Tourism Boutique Scenic Area' in 2022, the 'Top Ten Tourist Attractions in Beautiful China', and the 'Chinese Tourist Destination with the Most Investment Potential' and other titles.
