If you’re heading to Medan, Indonesia and you enjoy hiking, check out Mt Sibayak, which is only a short 1.5-2hr hike to the top! Located about 2hrs car ride away is Mt Sibayak, which is a stratovolcano that has high geothermal activity in the form of steam vents and hot springs. Best part is, it’s located near Taman Simalem Resort, which has a beautiful view of Lake Toba, and amazing weather (~18 degrees) because of the altitude!
