PathfindingPilgrims

A sincere reminder for sisters visiting Shangri-La during the off-season of March to April

Regarding the weather ☔ It's easy to see the sunlit golden mountains in winter. There was no snowfall when we went, but many snow-capped mountains still had snow. It's quite cold in the mornings and evenings, but not so much at noon when the sun is out. We had sunny weather during our trip, and the scenery was gorgeous!! 😊❄ Regarding road conditions 🚗 There's a big temperature difference between morning and evening. In the morning, there's frost on the road, which turns to ice once cars drive over it, making it very slippery. You'll need anti-skid chains, or wait until the sun comes out at noon to drive. Some scenic spots (like Gedela Mountain, Balang Mountain, etc.) have some rough platform roads. 😬😓 Regarding attire I brought a long down coat, thermal underwear, and base layers, and I didn't feel cold. Wearing a skirt plus 'bare leg artifact' (my 300g one) is also okay. 🆗 Do bring hats, scarves, and gloves because it's very windy at the viewing platforms, and not wearing a hat can give you a headache. Bring lip balm with good moisturizing effects and emulsion because it's quite dry at high altitudes. 💨🏔❄ Regarding expenses 💰 I joined a group of 12 people, and we spent 6 days with an average cost of 3k per person, including entrance fees to scenic spots, oxygen bottles, and the 'traveler's three treasures'. The package included hotels with good environments, air conditioning, and electric blankets. 💵🏨🎟
