Preserve the exquisite Tulou, the serene ancient paths, and the century-old banyan trees

Fujian Tulou Yunshuiyao Scenic Area, this ancient town once known as Changjiao, gained fame from the movie 'Yunshuiyao' which was shot here. The ancient village built along the stream resembles a painting scroll, with a cobblestone ancient trail stretching over 10 kilometers underfoot, bearing the heavy traces of history. Along the trail, towering old banyan trees with interwoven roots and canopy-like branches have witnessed hundreds or even thousands of years of vicissitudes. The Tulou cluster, listed in the World Cultural Heritage, is represented by the double-ring circular Huaiyuan Building and the majestic square Hegui Building. They stand between the mountains and waters, attracting an endless stream of tourists every day with their unique architectural wisdom and artistic charm. However, with fame comes the impact of commercialization. It is hoped that in the future, a better balance between development and protection can be achieved, allowing this World Heritage gem to regain its former tranquil and elegant demeanor.
