Puzhehei is a Yi language term, meaning a lake filled with fish and shrimp. Puzhehei is not a single scenic spot, but a large area with a total area of 388 square kilometers. Similar to Luoping in March, the best travel season for Puzhehei is summer, with 40,000 acres of wild lotus flowers and 60,000 acres of plateau karst wetlands, creating a unique karst landscape and pastoral scenery. In March and April, the Puzhehei village is bright and tranquil, and because it's not the peak season, there are few tourists, which makes it a true Shangri-La. Just take a walk along Puzhehei Lake at the foot of Qinglong Mountain, passing by water buffaloes crossing the river; passing by farmers working in the fields; passing by green wheat fields; passing by tractors working in the sunset... 🌸 Accommodation Puzhehei village is the first choice, convenient for food, drink, and fun, and lakeside rooms are very cheap in the off-season. 🌸 Eat local specialties Lotus fish is fresh and tasty, but it has quite a few small bones. Soy milk chicken hotpot First eat the tofu pudding (I really thought it was foam) then eat the free-range chicken meat. The tofu pudding is super delicious, with some dipping sauce it tastes like fresh and tender tofu brain. The free-range chicken meat is especially soft and bouncy, and finally, you can have vegetables to dip in the pot. ⚠️ The lotus feast is seasonal, in spring you can try the local seasonal wild vegetables, which taste very good. Coffee There are also quite a few lakeside coffee shops in Puzhehei village, you can find one you like to try. 🌸 Sightseeing The attractions in Puzhehei are very scattered, with the wetland park and Swan Lake boating being a bit further away. If you just want a relaxed and leisurely tour, near Puzhehei village, it is recommended Take a willow leaf boat at Qinglong Mountain pier to tour the lake, back and forth between Pucuo Pond and Qinglong Mountain pier. Climb Qinglong Mountain for the best viewing platform to see the sunrise, sunset, and Puzhehei village. Qinglong Mountain is not high but quite steep, and it takes about half an hour to climb.
