Bukit Merah Orangutan island

Bukit Merah orangutan island is a sanctuary for rescued orangutans, it is only accessible by boat, I think it was opened in 2000, it looks after critically endangered borneo orangutan. It has beautiful jungle paths to walk and the orangutan are in massive enclosures, I think there was 12 orangutans there when I was there, you get a guide to take you round and they explain all the work that is happening.
