Mystic Island of Siquijor

I could feel the biting chill as we whisked along the narrow passage going to Salagdoong beach in Siquijor. The afternoon sun was barely peeking through the amalgamation of leaves and branches forming an archway. It was quiet. All around us were molave trees rose to the sky. We basked in the silence as we drove around and admired thick trunks and roots flowing like tiny rivers. The occasional patches of sunlight breaking through the canopy made the silent forest all the more magical. It was so beautiful that it was hard for me to imagine that this was not a forest made exclusively by nature. Infact, it was man-made.
