During my visit, coinciding with the peak cherry blossom season, securing accommodation in Tokyo proved challenging. However, after thorough research, I opted for Lyf, renowned in Singapore for its youthful ambiance and pristine facilities. Conveniently situated, the hotel was a mere 8-minute walk from Tokyo station. Upon arrival, the reception staff offered complimentary membership, granting access to early check-in and late check-out—an enticing perk we readily embraced. Notably, unlike traditional hotels, Lyf does not provide bottled water in the room. While the room boasted a modern aesthetic, its compact size posed a challenge in accommodating our luggage comfortably. The unconventional layout of the bathroom, lacking sufficient privacy, might discomfort some guests—especially if sharing the space simultaneously. It's worth mentioning that individuals taller or larger than us (both under 170cm and size s-m) may find the space claustrophobic. However, for solo travelers, this hotel offers a cozy and functional retreat. Convenience comes at a price, as extra amenities such as shavers and bath towels are available only at the reception on the second level, inconveniencing guests with additional trips upstairs. Entertainment within the room is limited to a smart TV for streaming YouTube—a feature that offers some diversion. However, the hotel compensates with communal spaces on-site, featuring a selection of games suitable for group gatherings, albeit geared more towards kids. As a member, guests receive welcome drinks redeemable at the first-floor café—an ideal perk for kickstarting the day with a refreshing beverage. Ultimately, lyf shines brightest in its unbeatable location, boasting proximity to essential conveniences like 7-11, trendy cafes, and restaurants, ensuring a seamless Tokyo experience for travelers. #japantrip
