Small walkable city with plenty things to do

I spent 2 nights in Trieste. It is a city rich in history and culture. One will not get bored here with plenty of stuffs to do. i love the architectures and the Roman theatre ruins. The sunset is beautiful to watch. You can have a dip if you wish to. The old town is amazing! Trieste is about 2hrs train ride from Venice. It maybe a small town but very enjoyable to explore. And if you don't fancy crowds, this is a perfect place. This place maybe a little tone down than Venice. Advice not to skip it.
