The room facilities are complete, and the location is excellent with very convenient transportation. There's a subway station right downstairs, making it super easy to get to all the attractions. Downstairs is also Huangxing Square Pedestrian Street, so there's an abundance of food and entertainment options nearby. The hotel environment is great, and the decor is quite unique. The room hygiene is also very good. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Changsha.

True to Hilton's reputation, the service was excellent as always. The hotel rooms are spacious and clean, and it's right opposite the Tianmen Mountain cable car station. There are also plenty of dining options nearby, and 72-Qilou isn't too far from the hotel. As a foreign traveler, I was very satisfied with this hotel. Thank you 😊

Stumbled upon a hidden gem, Mays Home, in Zhangjiajie! The owner, a lovely lady from Beijing, was incredibly warm and attentive, making our stay so comfortable and relaxed. The rooms are clean, elegant, and full of ambiance. The location is also very convenient for getting around. Every detail shows how much care was put into the place, making our trip truly pleasant and enjoyable. This is definitely my top recommendation for anyone visiting Zhangjiajie – truly, I can't recommend it enough!

Great location, close to the historic district with convenient public transportation. Lots of food options downstairs. Facilities: The bed was just right, not too soft or too hard, so I slept comfortably. There's a small bathtub, good air conditioning, a TV, and even a partial river view. Hygiene: The room was cleaned daily. They provided bath bags and replenished room supplies promptly. Service: Timely and thoughtful, with instant replies to messages.

Facilities: The hotel has been open for some years, so the facilities aren't super new, but the room was quite spacious and had pretty much everything you'd need. There's no minibar in the room. The swimming pool is open from 3 PM to just past 9 PM. The hotel is surrounded by schools, so there are plenty of small eateries and restaurants nearby. The soundproofing in the rooms could use some improvement...
Cleanliness: Clean.
Environment: The hotel is quite close to the highway exit, which is convenient.
Service: The bellboy in the lobby was very polite. When we were leaving, he proactively and warmly greeted us, helped with our luggage, and even brought it to the car. I forgot his name, I don't think I saw a name tag on his uniform. The hotel breakfast was all very clean, and the variety was quite rich.

This stay truly exceeded my expectations, I just *have* to give it a glowing review! What impressed me most was the hotel's cleanliness and hygiene; it was spotless throughout, with incredible attention to detail. The moment I walked into the room, it felt fresh and bright. The floor was immaculate, the desk had not a speck of dust, and even the corners were tidy, free from stains or clutter. The bedding was pristine white and soft, with no odd smells – it clearly had been thoroughly sanitized and changed, which made sleeping incredibly reassuring.
The bathroom's wet and dry areas were perfectly separated. The tiles were sparkling clean with no water stains, the sink and mirror were spotless, and there was no mold or mildew in the shower area. The toiletries were neatly arranged and dust-free. The ventilation was excellent; the room had no stuffiness or smoke smell, and the overall air quality was fresh. In the public areas, the hallways were clean and odor-free, and the elevators and lobby were regularly cleaned. You could tell the housekeeping team put a lot of effort into every corner.
The staff were polite and friendly, and very thorough and conscientious in their work, making the entire check-in process smooth and reassuring. The room layout was sensible, quiet, and peaceful, offering great value for money. When traveling, I prioritize accommodation hygiene above all else, and this hotel completely put my mind at ease. It was clean, comfortable, and stress-free. I highly recommend it and will definitely choose to stay here again next time!

Had a fantastic stay during the May Day holiday! The high-rise view was spectacular, and the facilities were complete with thoughtful service. The room had good soundproofing, and breakfast could even be delivered to our room. It was super convenient with the WTC mall right next door, where we could grab Tea Color Yuese and try Yan Changsha. The location was great too, with two subway stations nearby. It was only a 4-minute walk to Snack Kingdom and 15 minutes to Wuyi Square. A big thanks to our butler, Axue, for all the help!

Many friends visiting Changsha ask me to help them find a hotel. Their requirements are usually: convenient transportation, equal distance to all attractions, places to explore nearby, and the best value for money… After a lot of searching, the HOUTAI Hotel popped up!! Afraid the pictures wouldn't match reality, I even stayed a night to experience it myself, and it really met all my expectations😌
💚 The hotel has a very strong design aesthetic, with greenery and 'tai' elements throughout. Guests enjoy complimentary afternoon tea, coffee, and breakfast, which is a great convenience. I highly recommend the Changsha rice noodles for breakfast – the toppings are delicious! You can also rent a DJI drone at the front desk, and there's a gym and laundry room.
🤍 I chose a room with a terrace, perfect for smokers or those who dislike enclosed spaces. The room layout is compact and well-designed, and it even has a cup sterilizer (a huge plus for germaphobes!). The soundproofing is excellent, the mattress and pillows are comfortable, and the screen mirroring effect was surprisingly good – truly exceptional, like being in a movie theater.
💚 Surroundings & Transportation: The hotel is directly across from IFS (International Finance Square). It's close to Dongmao Street and Fengying West Alley, both of which offer amazing food and shopping! To the west of the hotel is the bustling pedestrian street. Plus, getting to other attractions is very convenient, whether by taxi or subway.
🤍 The only **drawback** would be parking; there are very few spots. If you're driving, be sure to inform the hotel in advance to reserve a space. The entrance and exit are also not very noticeable and a bit hard to find.

I stayed at this hotel during the May Day holiday and the front desk service was excellent. They thoughtfully prepared walking directions to the subway. The hotel's location is also incredibly convenient, right across from a large shopping mall, making dining and shopping very easy. Line 2 provides direct access to Wuyi Square, Orange Island, and Yuelu Mountain. The environment is also very pleasant. Highly recommended.

GGuest UserZhangjiajie Idyllic Pondside Timber Lodge feels like a quiet retreat designed for people who want to slow down and reconnect with nature. From the moment you arrive, the setting stands out—lush gardens spread across the property, carefully maintained yet still natural enough to feel authentic. Walking paths wind through greenery, leading you past tranquil ponds where the water reflects the surrounding trees and sky. It’s the kind of place where even a short stroll becomes part of the experience.
The ponds are a highlight. They’re not just decorative; they create a calming atmosphere that carries throughout the lodge. Sitting by the water in the early morning or at sunset is especially memorable, with only the sounds of birds and the occasional ripple breaking the silence.
The rooms continue that same sense of comfort and simplicity. Built with timber elements, they feel warm and grounded rather than overly polished. Inside, everything is thoughtfully arranged—clean, spacious, and equipped with the essentials for a relaxing stay. Large windows often bring in views of the gardens or ponds, making it easy to feel connected to the outdoors even when you’re inside.
The service was outstanding. All my needs and questions were answered promptly.
What really defines the lodge is its balance: it offers comfort without losing its natural charm. It’s not trying to be flashy or luxurious in a conventional sense—instead, it succeeds by creating a peaceful environment where the surroundings take center stage.
Overall, Zhangjiajie Idyllic Pondside Timber Lodge is ideal for travelers looking for a calm, nature-focused stay. Between the gardens, the serene ponds, and the cozy rooms, it provides a refreshing break from busier, more commercial accommodations.

GGuest UserThis hotel is absolutely fantastic! The front desk staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Breakfast was abundant and delicious. I especially want to commend Ms. Qu Xianlin, a server in the restaurant, for her exceptionally thoughtful and enthusiastic service. She personally brought us coffee and fruit, which I found very touching. Thank you, staff of Sunshine Hotel! The bedding was comfortable, and the room was spacious and very clean. I'll definitely come back if I have the chance.

DDoudoufei625The hotel's location is super convenient, right on Qifeng Square, with the shuttle bus stop directly outside. You can see the hotel as soon as you get off, and it has the most prominent facade in the vicinity.
Upon check-in, we received complimentary fruit, and when we checked out, we were given a small souvenir. The room was equipped with a smart assistant (XiaoDu) that controlled the curtains and TV. Breakfast was quite substantial, offering freshly made rice noodles, scrambled eggs, pastries, and desserts. It was served from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM, and even if you woke up late and arrived closer to 9 AM, there was still plenty of food available until everyone had finished eating.
It's just a few minutes' walk to Hongqiao. If you go down the stairs to the right of Hongqiao and then turn right again, you can catch the night boat tour. It's worth pre-booking a combined ticket for the scenic area. The night tour lasts about 25 minutes, and the illuminated scenery is stunning, with performances like Cui Cui along the Tuojiang River.
EEasy.EAn absolutely flawless stay! The reception staff here are incredible—warm, professional, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.
The rooms are excellent, providing a perfect blend of comfort and style after a long day of exploring. Most importantly, the location is unbeatable. You are right where you need to be to access the Tianmen Mountain Cableway, making the trip up the mountain incredibly convenient and stress-free.
If you are visiting Zhangjiajie, this is definitely the place to stay. Highly recommended

GGuest UserA comfortable base near Tianmen Mountain — great value for 2 nights!
We stayed for two nights at the Suxin Tianmen Yinlu Hotel and were pleasantly surprised by its comfort, location, and service. It’s an excellent choice for travellers planning to explore Tianmen Mountain and the surrounding area.
Location: 8.5/10. The hotel is conveniently located just a 15 minute walk from the entrance to Tianmen Mountain National Park and the Tianmen Cableway station. This made it easy for us to start our day early and avoid the busiest crowds.
The hotel is a bit old, but it’s well maintained and clean. Our room was quiet and comfortable, with everything we needed for a good rest after long days of exploring.
The staff were incredibly nice and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. They gave us useful tips on the best routes and timing for Tianmen Mountain, helping us avoid long queues. A special mention goes to the breakfast they prepared for us. Despite the hotel not having a formal restaurant, the staff took care to arrange a hearty and delicious breakfast each morning. It included local specialties and some Western options — exactly what we needed to fuel up for a day of hiking.
Value for money: 9/10. For a 2‑night stay, the price felt very fair. You get a clean, comfortable room in a strategic location with exceptionally kind and helpful staff — exactly what you need when exploring Tianmen Mountain.
Minor notes: the hotel’s design is a bit dated, but this didn’t affect our comfort in any way. The focus here is clearly on practicality and hospitality rather than modern aesthetics.
I would definitely recommend the Suxin Tianmen Yinlu Hotel to anyone visiting Tianmen Mountain for 1–3 nights. It’s not a luxury resort, but its convenient location, clean rooms, and wonderful staff make it a practical and welcoming choice.

RRachchelloThis hostel is 40min drive away from the high speed rail station but conveniently located 5 min drive away from the west gate, which allows one to escape from the queues. We were here during the Easter holidays and even then, didn’t have to queue up for the cable cars or eco buses. Most tourists entered via the East/South Gates thus we traveled from a counter direction. There isn’t much around the hostel so be prepared to fully immerse into the quietude of village life and the songs of roosters and birds. The nearest “town” (a few supermarkets and maybe two village restaurants)is also 5min drive away and Xiaozhao nicely offered us a drive on the Buggy. There isn’t any taxi around. The ride from here to downtown ZZJ or the high speed rail station would cost around RMB200.
I like most the scenery from our spacious veranda, with a view to some classical zhangjiajie landforms, and equipped with a huge tea table and a jacuzzi. It was raining often, but I had fully enjoyed my waiting time till the sky cleared up.
Xiaozhao took meticulous care of us - he quickly tended to any requests and offered great recommendations on travel routes. The compound is deeply surrounded by trees and offered good privacy. Food is a little overpriced but taste is good.
Drawbacks…as they position as a high-end boutique hotel, the facilities and decors are a bit aged. TV screen was small by current standard and they can do better with the coffee.

RRod Evans Ky⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five-Star Review: No.5 Valley Lodge, Zhangjiajie, China
Staying at No.5 Valley Lodge was nothing short of magical. Tucked away in the breathtaking valleys of Zhangjiajie, this lodge feels like a hidden sanctuary where nature, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality come together perfectly.
From the moment I arrived, I was surrounded by towering karst mountains, lush greenery, and a sense of calm you simply can’t find in the city. The rooms are beautifully designed—clean, cozy, and thoughtfully detailed—with stunning views that make waking up feel like a dream. Every corner of the lodge blends seamlessly with the natural landscape, creating an authentic yet luxurious experience.
What truly sets No.5 Valley Lodge apart is the staff. Warm, attentive, and genuinely caring, they go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Their local knowledge is invaluable, whether you’re planning visits to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Tianmen Mountain, or discovering lesser-known scenic trails. The food is another highlight—fresh, flavorful, and comforting, with local touches that make every meal memorable.
If you’re looking for a peaceful escape, a romantic retreat, or a base for exploring one of China’s most spectacular destinations, No.5 Valley Lodge is an absolute gem. I would return in a heartbeat and recommend it without hesitation.

GGuest UserOverall, extremely satisfied! My friends and I booked four rooms for two nights for a trip during the Qingming Festival, and on the very first day, we were all marveling at finding such a delightful and comfortable guesthouse. The location is excellent, close to the main road Wuling Avenue, and just a short walk further up to the central gate of the Forest Park. The views are superb; situated on a hillside, facing north to south, you can enjoy stunning sunsets and the sight of misty green mountains. The environment is beautiful; both inside and outside the courtyard are meticulously maintained, making every snap a picturesque scene. The accommodation is great; the rooms are spacious and clean, the bedding is comfortable, and the kids loved it. What's more, despite being nestled by the mountain, there was no musty smell during the Qingming season; it was quite dry. The service is exceptional; both the owner and other staff members were warm and polite. On a rainy day, they even placed umbrellas by our doors early in the morning. In the evenings, we gathered around the stove in the lobby for tea, with the children roasting cured meats, sausages, and sticky rice cakes. Finally, I must praise the owner's breakfast – it was plentiful and delicious! And the black chicken soup for dinner was absolutely amazing!

Very Good
JJulia BranchThe hotel is in a great location—very convenient for accessing the east entrance of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and the base of the mountain. The room and bathroom were also very clean, and the bathroom in particular was excellent.
However, the biggest issue was the heating. The system was extremely confusing, with multiple switches and lights that needed to be on just to get the air conditioning/heating to work. No instructions were provided, and no one explained it at check-in. As a result, we were stuck with cold air blowing for two nights and were very uncomfortable. It wasn’t until the third night that someone finally explained how to use it properly.
The breakfast was also disappointing. The boiled eggs seemed like they had been sitting in water for days and had an unpleasant taste. I would strongly recommend skipping breakfast altogether.
Overall, the cleanliness and location are great, but the lack of guidance and poor breakfast experience really affected the stay.
