"The staff was very friendly, the facilities were good, although could improve the floors in the room and breakfast area. Just want to leave a suggestion. Keep the beach clean, we could find a lot of cups, cigarette buds and cigarette boxes and plastic containers... even if you organize beach clean ups weekly, i think hotel guests would help, just provide the materials to do the clean up. The beach is one of your most valuable resources."

"I'm absolutely thrilled! This hotel is simply perfect. It's large and quiet. Their spa is ideal – I arrived just as it was closing, but they were incredibly accommodating and let me enjoy an hour-long massage after a full day at Ba Na Hills. The herbal compress massage, by the way, was the best I've had during my entire trip to Vietnam. The restaurant is open until 10 PM, and I really enjoyed the food. The next day, after breakfast, I took their shuttle for 50,000 VND round trip to My Son. Breakfast starts at 6:30 AM, giving you a great chance to be among the first at My Son and avoid the crowds. The pool, by the way, is clean and doesn't smell of chlorine; I managed to swim and sunbathe before checking out. It's a shame I had everything planned out and couldn't stay for a couple more days."

"Wyndham Hoi An Royal Resort and Villas - Short Stay Review **1. Room Facilities** The room space was incredibly generous, with a large vanity and a huge mirror that was perfect for grooming. The spacious desk by the window was convenient for working or placing belongings. The room featured a balcony with direct ocean views, allowing us to watch the sunrise over the sea in the mornings. We also had views of the resort villas and mountains, offering an excellent panorama. The hotel provided two complimentary bottles of drinking water daily, and housekeeping service was automatic, keeping the room very clean. The only slight drawback: the bathroom only had a shower, no bathtub. **2. Breakfast** The buffet breakfast offered a rich variety of both Chinese and Western options, and the overall quality was decent. However, it wasn't very friendly for vegetarians. There was no dedicated vegetarian section, and vegetarian ingredients were scattered throughout, making it inconvenient for vegetarian guests to choose their food. We suggest adding a dedicated vegetarian corner to significantly improve the experience. **3. Areas for Improvement** **1. Luggage Storage Lacks Security** Although the hotel offers luggage storage, bags were simply placed in a corner of the lobby without dedicated supervision. With people constantly coming and going, there's a risk of theft during busy periods, which made guests feel uneasy. **2. Inconvenient Free Shuttle Bus Schedule** The hotel provides a free shuttle bus to and from the Ancient Town, but the frequency is sparse, with only three trips per day. The last bus from the Ancient Town was around 9 PM, which is much earlier than when tourists typically finish their evening activities. Return trips were even more limited, with only morning and evening options. The vehicle restrictions were stringent: reservations had to be made an hour in advance, and only a 7-seater car was provided, meaning no walk-ons were allowed, offering very low flexibility. We suggest using medium-sized buses, increasing frequency, and relaxing reservation rules to truly facilitate guest travel. **Summary** The hotel's hardware, views, and room cleanliness are commendable. By optimizing the vegetarian breakfast area, luggage storage management, and shuttle bus schedule, the overall stay experience would be significantly enhanced."

"Loved our stay at Bliss Hoi An! This was my first time in Vietnam, and this place felt so peaceful and heartwarming. Beautiful grounds, lotus ponds, coconut trees, ocean breeze…The ocean being right in front of the hotel was incredible. There were 40-50 fishermen early in the morning bringing in the catch and my Dad had fun getting pictures of them and all the fish! I loved just floating in the infinity pool looking out at the sea and clouds for hours. Mom is usually scared of the water because she can’t swim, but she had a nice time in the large sized jacuzzi. Such a relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast food was refreshing and healthful, the shuttle into Hoi An everyday was very helpful, and the spa treatments were wonderful (definitely recommend the bamboo stick massage). But honestly, what I will remember most is the warmth of the staff here. Every single person was so kind, attentive, present, and genuine. Everyone from the management to the cleaning staff, restaurant staff, Executive Chef, shuttle drivers, security, pool and spa staff, busboys, and landscapers supported us with such warmth and kindness, greeting us with beautiful smiles everyday. When we first got to the hotel and checked in, we notes that the size of the room was not accurately published on trip.com - it is smaller in reality. The management upgraded us to larger rooms as soon as they were available. We appreciated our time here very much and won’t forget the kindness of the people. Sounds cheesy, but you can really feel the heart of Bliss here. It made such an impression on me. Thank you Bliss Hoi A for such a lovely experience. 💛"

"The Good: • Service: The staff here are attentive, friendly, and quick to help. • Breakfast: High-quality ingredients and a great mix of local and international dishes. • Facilities: Great pool and Kids Club, though be sure to check the pricing as it can vary. The Not-So-Good: • Location & Logistics: The hotel is a bit isolated. There aren't many time slots, and the seats fill up fast. • Dining: While the breakfast is great, there aren't many restaurants outside of the hotel within walking distance. You’ll likely be eating on-site or taking a 15–20 minute car ride for more authentic local food."

"The hotel is like a resort, very large with beautiful surroundings. The downsides are no indoor pool, and the shuttle bus schedule is too infrequent, with a two-hour wait between buses. It would be much better if it ran every hour, which would be more convenient for guests. A two-hour wait is really too sparse, and considering its remote location, the hotel should really think about this to be more appealing."

"Overall, it was good. The facilities, friendliness, and convenience were all great. However, the sink drain in the room once detached, causing a small leak which was a bit startling, but they quickly fixed it so it wasn't a big issue. I used the food court and Korean restaurant within the main hotel, and the taste was decent, and the prices were relatively good. It's located in Southern Hoi An, so it's a bit far from the main attractions, but it seems like a great place for a resort-style stay."

"The food at this Four Seasons is truly amazing! I stayed for three days and tried every single restaurant, and I was thoroughly impressed with all the meals. The attention to detail in the rooms is also excellent. They noticed we brought our own wine and proactively provided an ice bucket in our room every evening."

Hoi An Hotels: Riverside Stays, Ancient Town Access & Where to Book

About Hoi An

Hoi An Ancient Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Southeast Asia's best-preserved traditional trading ports. In the 16th and 17th centuries it was a major stop on the maritime Silk Road, drawing Dutch, French, and Portuguese merchants who traded tea, ceramics, silk, and spices. That layered history survives in the town's architecture: a fusion of Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, and European styles, with assembly halls from Fujian, Guangdong, Chaozhou, and Hainan lining entire streets. At night the old quarter becomes a "world of lanterns," as silk lanterns in every color and shape light the riverside alleys.

When to Book Hoi An Hotels

  • Hoi An's peak tourist season runs from November through March, when hotel prices are highest and availability is tightest, especially around Tet (Vietnamese New Year) in late January or early February.
  • During Hoi An's November-to-March peak, book at least 1 to 2 months ahead; for the Tet festival period, book even earlier as the best properties sell out first.
  • July and August are low season for Hoi An hotels; most properties offer steep discounts to attract travelers during the summer heat and rain.
  • For Hoi An hotels, booking 2 to 3 months before arrival gives the best balance of availability and price. Waiting too long risks sellouts, but booking too far out may mean missing last-minute flash deals.
  • Sunday is generally the cheapest day of the week to book hotels, while Friday and Saturday are the most expensive. Most travelers book over the weekend, so checking on Sunday in Hoi An catches post-weekend rate drops.
  • November kicks off the high season for Southeast Asian beach destinations as weather improves, aligning with Hoi An's November-through-March peak window, so expect prices to rise accordingly.

Hoi An Travel Essentials

Getting Around Hoi An

  • Cycling is the easiest and cheapest way to get around Hoi An, especially in the Ancient Town and surrounding countryside. Bicycle rentals are widely available.
  • Hoi An Ancient Town restricts motorized vehicles during certain hours, creating a pedestrian-friendly zone best explored on foot or by bicycle.
  • Hoi An has no local bus network and no train station; walking, cycling, motorbike rentals, and taxis are the primary options within town.

Food in Hoi An

  • Cao Lau is Hoi An's signature dish: thick pork rice noodles with croutons, sliced pork, and fresh local greens, made with ingredients sourced only in the Hoi An area.
  • White Rose Dumplings (Banh Bao Banh Vac) are translucent shrimp dumplings shaped like white roses, a Hoi An specialty rarely found outside town.
  • Mi Quang, a turmeric-tinted noodle dish from Quang Nam province, comes with pork, shrimp, crushed peanuts, fresh herbs, and a modest amount of savory broth.

Entry Requirements

  • A Vietnam e-Visa costs $25 USD for single entry and $50 USD for multiple entry; apply at least 3 business days before arrival via the official portal evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn.
  • Citizens of the UK, France, Germany, and most EU nations can enter Vietnam visa-free for up to 45 days under a policy extended through 2028.
  • Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date and have at least 2 blank pages for immigration stamps.

Weather

  • Hoi An's monthly temperatures range from 23°C in January to a peak of 34°C in July and August; the most pleasant stretch is January through March, which is relatively dry with temperatures between 23°C and 28°C.
  • Heavy rains fall from September to January, with annual rainfall up to 2,500mm; autumn (September to November) can still be a good window for exploring the Ancient Town without summer crowds.
  • Summers in Hoi An from June to August are hot and humid, with temperatures sometimes exceeding 38°C and tropical storms common along the central coast.

※ Prices and policies vary by season and are subject to change. Confirm with official sources before booking.
