"This was our second stay at this hotel during our time in Bangkok, and that alone says a lot. We originally planned to stay only a few days, but felt comfortable enough to extend our stay for another week. What stood out most was how easy it was to settle into a routine here. The atmosphere feels relaxed, the property is well maintained, and everything worked smoothly throughout our stay. The staff were welcoming and consistently helpful whenever we needed assistance. We especially enjoyed spending time by the pool after busy days in the city, and appreciated having comfortable spaces where we could relax between sightseeing and work. The hotel offered a great balance between value, comfort, and convenience. The surrounding area has plenty of local food options, shops, and useful services, making longer stays very practical. Overall, this was a place we genuinely enjoyed returning to every evening, and extending our stay by an extra week turned out to be an easy decision. We would happily stay here again on a future trip to Bangkok!"

"We traveled to Bangkok for a business and family trip and had a pleasant stay overall. The receptionist welcomed us warmly and offered an upgrade to a two-bedroom room. Initially, we were not particularly interested in the upgrade, but we later appreciated it because the room had a bathtub. This was very helpful for us since we were traveling with a baby, and the hotel does not provide a small baby bathtub. However, some dust on the floor and since our baby was crawling, dust stuck to the clothes and knees. Water is very important for sterilizing baby bottles and utensils, so we needed quite a bit during our stay. An additional drinking water would be charged if we requested more. Also, there was no bottle sterilizer provided. Breakfast was nice. The space is small but beautifully decorated. The room atmospherer and location are great for a business trip. The only downside was a male receptionist who helped with our luggage during check-out, as he seemed unfriendly and not very willing to assist."

"I have found this hotel few years ago, however we didn’t have a chance to stay there until now. I expected high standards of services and comfort of room and I can say that this hotel has definitely reached my expectations completely. It’s stylish, comfortable and rooms are spacious with everything what is needed for shorter or longer stay. We will definitely stay here again when we’ll stay for a night or two in Bangkok."

"Checkin was smooth though they're very strict about adherence to the in and out times. Location is great though the construction made traffic bad. Zero halal food at the hotel so all meals had to be outside with limited choices for local halal food. Staff made a nice welcome for my wife's birthday which we really appreciated. Staff super nice and helpful. Everyone was great. Room was relatively clean, lots of TV channels. Bed is comfy. AC only had low medium and high, temperature control non-existent. Luckily it was set to freezing so you would switch it on in the day and off at night. The only thing we didn't really lke was the access to the bathroom. It was a sliding wooden door with a huge gap. And the strange other thing was the closet would open into the bathroom. So smells would waft into the room from the door and closet. Avoid the 6th floor massage place, hurts more than it helps."

"Its a good hotel with friendly staff + good breakfast, clean rooms, good airco, everyday towel change, pool on the roof. - shower or toilet could smell like sewer (not in the room only at bathroom AFTER use but many simpel hotels have this problem) They however could give some spray in the bathroom. - bed is a bid hard. Price is good to what u get :) second time i came here for me fine hotel. Can u not handle some small minus points for a good price them don’t book here. :)"

"Very convenient location. At the foot of the Bayioke Tower. I booked this hotel specifically for shopping, and it's the best decision. Everything is within walking distance, from cheap junk and souvenirs to luxury shopping malls. Check-in was hassle-free, the staff explained everything and helped with the airport transfer. The metro is nearby. It's convenient that there are dishes and a kitchenette. Hot water and air conditioning are available. The furniture is old, but it serves its purpose, and it's a great value in a top location."

"Here is the text with the em dash removed from the title: **Another wonderful stay: Consistency at its best!** I ended up extending my time here for another 2 nights, and I am so glad I did. Just like my previous experience, the service across the board was absolutely outstanding. From the front door to reception, housekeeping, and the breakfast team, everyone continues to go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. The consistency in their excellent service makes this hotel a top choice. Highly recommended and will definitely keep coming back!"

"Thanks to the hotel we had a great first experience in Bangkok. Location is great if you like to go out to. It is just a few minutes walk from Nana BTS station and 30 minutes from the airport BKK. The lobby is huge and our luggage was immediately taken on the trolly. At checkin we paid 2000Bath deposit but it was completely returned when we checked out. We had a spacious room 35m2 with a great bed/matrass and lovely pillows, corner with a table and couch, fridge a hairdryer shampoo, showergell, cotton buds, toothbrush+paste, showercap, thea, coffee and 2 bottles of water everyday. A bit outdated but all very neat and clean. The shower always had great pressure and hot water. Our beds and towels were cleaned every day and on our weddingday we even had flowers en swantowels on our bed. Also tv has severel internatinal channels and we had great internet during our whole stay. It has a pool to refresh yourself and a great gym. There is also a great boxing/muaythai gym where we took some private lessons from the headcoach(trainer of the year in Thailand) breakfast has a lot of choices too. On request you can choose different sorts of eggs. But there is also fried rice and noodles. Not to forget 7 eleven is just around the corner. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Definitely coming back when we visit Bangkok"

Bangkok Hotels: A District-by-District Guide to Sukhumvit, Riverside, Old Town & Beyond

About Bangkok

Bangkok is Thailand's capital, blending ancient traditions with modern marvels. Ornate temples, busy street markets, and bustling nightlife define its character. The Grand Palace, built in 1782, houses the Temple of the Emerald Buddha with elaborate gold-detailed Thai architecture (admission: ฿500 / ~$15.23). Wat Pho is home to a 46-meter reclining Buddha covered in gold leaf, while Wat Arun rises from the Chao Phraya riverbank with a towering Khmer-style central prang. King Power Mahanakhon Sky Walk, Thailand's tallest building, has a glass floor 314 meters above the street. Chatuchak Weekend Market spreads across thousands of stalls, and Khaosan Road remains the city's backpacker hub. The BTS Skytrain and MRT subway connect most neighborhoods, with one-way fares ranging from ฿16 to ฿59 (~$0.50-$1.70).

Where to Stay in Bangkok

Sukhumvit

Sukhumvit Road anchors Bangkok's dining, nightlife, and shopping scene. The BTS Skytrain runs its full length, putting Terminal 21, EmQuartier, and EmSphere within minutes of each other. Soi 11 and Soi 55 (Thonglor) anchor the after-dark scene; Ekkamai brings a more laid-back cafe and bar rhythm. Hotels here range from Japanese-inflected luxury towers to compact city suites.

When to Book Bangkok Hotels

  • Bangkok's peak tourist season runs November to February. Hotel rates hit their yearly highs during these months and over major holidays; weekend rates tend to edge above weekday rates.
  • For Bangkok New Year's Eve, book hotels and river cruises 2 to 3 months ahead (by October). Popular Chao Phraya dinner cruises sell out by mid-November, and BTS and MRT trains are packed beyond capacity after midnight. A hotel within walking distance of your celebration venue, such as near IconSiam or CentralWorld, saves hours of waiting for a taxi.
  • Bangkok NYE hotel price ranges: hostels ฿490-฿980/night (~$15-$30), mid-range hotels ฿2,630-฿4,920/night (~$80-$150, for example, Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square, Ibis Bangkok Riverside), luxury riverside hotels ฿8,210-฿16,410/night (~$250-$500, such as Shangri-La Bangkok, Mandarin Oriental).
  • The best off-peak windows for Trip.com hotel deals in Bangkok are mid-January to February (20-35% off), mid-April to June (15-30% off), and October to November (20-40% off).
  • The best days of the week to find lower Bangkok hotel prices are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Avoid booking Friday evening through Monday morning, when business and weekend travel demand pushes rates up.
  • Booking Bangkok hotels well ahead during popular periods secures better rates. Last-minute deals can surface during off-peak seasons but are not something to count on.
  • Look for Trip.com-exclusive deals, flash sales, seasonal promotions, early-bird discounts, and package deals to reduce Bangkok hotel costs. Longer stays may qualify for discounted rates.

Bangkok Travel Essentials

Getting Around

  • Bangkok's public transport backbone is the BTS Skytrain (elevated) and MRT subway (underground), covering most major neighborhoods and landmarks. Fares are distance-based: tap on and tap off at both entry and exit gates.
  • The Airport Rail Link connects Suvarnabhumi Airport to Phaya Thai Station in about 30 minutes, operating daily from 5:30 AM to midnight.
  • Rush hour in Bangkok peaks 7:00-9:00 AM and 4:00-7:00 PM. Trains get extremely crowded; after midnight, only Grab, Bolt, taxis, or tuk-tuks run.

Street Food & Dining

  • Bangkok was ranked the world's No.1 city for food lovers by Food & Wine (Global Tastemakers 2025). Yaowarat Road in Chinatown transforms into a busy open-air food market every evening, and Victory Monument is a high-density hub for Isan-style som tam, boat noodles, and grilled meats.
  • Jay Fai is Bangkok's legendary one-Michelin-star street-food spot, famous for its crab omelet and wok-fried seafood. Thip Samai, open since 1939, is widely regarded as the city's best-known Pad Thai restaurant.
  • Pad Thai from a street stall costs ฿50-฿100 (~$1.52-$3.05) per plate. Note: Mondays are citywide street-cleaning days in Bangkok, and street-food vendor availability drops by roughly half compared to other days.

Entry Requirements

  • All foreign nationals entering Thailand in 2026 must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC). The old paper TM6 form is no longer valid. Missing TDAC leads to denied boarding or immigration delays.
  • TDAC is free and can only be submitted within 72 hours (3 days) before arrival. Any platform requesting payment for TDAC is a scam.
  • Passports must be valid for at least 6 months from arrival. U.S. citizens and travelers from many other countries can enter visa-free for up to 60 days for tourism. Visa on Arrival costs ฿2,000 (~$60.93), payable in cash in Thai Baht.

Weather

  • Bangkok has a tropical monsoon climate, hot and humid year-round with an annual average of about 28°C (82°F). Maximum temperatures can reach over 35°C, and April to June are the hottest months, with temperatures often exceeding 40°C.
  • The best time to visit Bangkok is November through February, with temperatures of 22-32°C, minimal rainfall, and comfortable humidity. January and February are widely considered the ideal months.
  • In Bangkok, May to October is the monsoon season, with heavy rains possible, especially September to October. Rain arrives in intense bursts that stop as suddenly as they start.

Great
AAngelo_007The views from this hotel was stunning. Both inside in my room and all around the hotel campus you look directly into the heart of Bangkok and can see a good part of the city. Location wise travelers at this site are close to multiple local hotspots. In my case I enjoyed walking over to the waterfront where I took a river cruise into China town and spent most of my day there. It was pleasant to come back to a quiet room with a charming view after all the exploration and adventure. Inside my room everything was clean and with a touch of modern decoration and color. My bathroom included a spacious tub and my bed was very comfortable under the well regulated room air conditioning. I enjoyed being close to several shopping districts including Central World and Siam Paragon where I ended up walking to the next morning. I very much enjoyed the staff at this site with complements going to the bar crew. Both nights there I spent time enjoying a beer and discussing how local life was for these friendly and energetic folks. On my last morning I took part in the breakfast buffet and I was surprised to see how many options for food were available. Overall this was a great stay that I recommend and would gladly revisit upon my return.

SSTUART GOODALLBeat Warii has become the place to beat for me here in Bangkok. First and foremost, it offers great value and that counts for everything. The location on the riverside is central, convenient and scenic with a constant kaleidoscope of things happening right outside. You have access to piers, boats, buses and e-hailing services/cabs. The famous temples and most beautiful Watsuttiwaram and Yannawa are within working distance, and the world's most beautiful Mall (IconSiam)is a very short boat ride away for a minimal amount, but you can choose to walk there too. Asiatique the entertainment and riverfront development is within easy reach and offers complimentary transport via boat or shuttle. The area around the Hostel houses the largest fish market and seafood buffet restaurant. Within a few minutes' walk is a multitude of local places to eat that offer unique cuisine as well a selection of international food as well. The Hostel has a basketball court, laundry and ironing facilities, lots of space over 7 Floors, co-walking areas, lockers for shoes and valuable, capsule type dormitory beds, private rooms, a shared kitchen space, social areas, a cozy roof top with wow views, branded merchandize, places to hang and dry clothes, good AC and fans throughout, Comfy linen (crisp white duvets and sheets/pillows and a towel), adequate lights and plugs at bedside, laminated flooring, bean bags to chill, dedicated smoking space, local cats to play with, filtered water (hot and cold) , complimentary coffee all day, storage space for luggage, no refundable deposits requested, good maintenance, great showers and toilets throughout and staff that is professional, helpful, kind and friendly. There are no elevators, but this provides a daily workout for you. There is generally a good vibe and a nice mix of international guests around and yes, you can walk to a few Seven 11's easily as well as Little Big C. Yes, there is a fishy smell outside and it feels very local and wet in the surrounding area, but it does not affect your stay or experience at the actual Hostel, and it adds character to the entire environment. For where it is and the quality and selection of services and features you receive, Beat Warii is the best choice overall.

GGuest UserExtremely satisfied with my stay, highly recommend! Choosing the Jubilee Hotel for this business trip was an excellent decision! First off, I have to praise the room – it was incredibly spacious with a fantastic view, absolutely no feeling of being cramped. Enjoying breakfast by the sun-drenched window every morning, gazing out at the scenery, instantly brightened my mood and gave me more energy to start the workday. The hotel's Chinese and Japanese restaurants were also a pleasant surprise; the food was incredibly authentic and delicious, completely exceeding my expectations. Plus, the location is super convenient, making getting around for work hassle-free. Next time I'm in Thailand for business, I won't hesitate to choose this place again!

AAnonymous UserI went to Bangkok 2 times in 2 months. First we were in an expensive 5 star resort in the river and second time was here in Ramada Plaza. It was more than half the price of the first place but wow it was almost as good! I am not goof at reviews so I will just ramble my thoughts. The worst part of Ramada Plaza is the entrance. It is lackluster and the main big doors were not working so they had small signs that say in and out for you to use side doors. When you get in, the lobby is big and grand with high ceilings, albeit very dated. At night there is a pianist and singer every day and it’s nice to come back to. Front desk staff were kind and they said they upgraded our room from deluxe to premier deluxe (although they always say this so I don’t know if there truly was a difference). We didn’t get early check in and connecting rooms as I requested but we didn’t get rooms beside each other which was good enough. When we got to the room it was so nice. Looked newly renovated! Looked newer than the lobby and the hallway. So we were happy. Aircon was super strong and cold thoughout our 8 day stay. No carpet in the room, made it easier for luggages to roll. I felt it was cleaner that way too. Linens were crisp and clean. Pillows were super great and soft. For our king size bed we had 4 pillows and 1 extra. The bathroom was spacious but it had a wet floor set up so your tub and shower was beside each other. Tub is small so it fills up easily. Water is super super strong and goes from boiling hot to cold. We soaked everyday in the tub. My shower had low pressure in the first day but when I asked them to fix it, they did and it became super strong. If I may nitpick - I didn’t like their provided shampoo (made my hair stiff) and shower gel and lotion(didn’t like the scent). But it was totally ok. Just personal preference. They give two bottles of water a day. The provided ref was ok. Takes a while for our drinks to cool. Anyway moving on, the location of the hotel is beside asiatique so it’s noisy at night (we were in the 6F) because of the party boats boarding. Lots of singing. But only early in the evening. We tried the free tuktuk to asiatique and it was so fast like riding a rollercoaster. My daughter loved it. The location itself is nice because of the river view but it’s prone to a lot of traffic coming from places like icon Siam or central world. Outside the hotel were more than 5 massage spas. We tried one and had a great foot massage!! Loved it! We never tried the fee hotel boat to central pier because we didn’t want todeal with central pier and shift boats. I wish they had a free icon Siam boat like other hotels but that’s ok I guess it’s far. Also the boat doesn’t go at 12 noon so we just opted for a grab car to get around. Oh and also the breakfast buffet is great! They change selection daily so in 8 days we tried many different things. I loved the pork rib curry even though it was so spicy. The chef roams around every morning. Nice touch! Overall I recommend this hotel to all my friends who don’t want to break the bank but still want the resort feel by the river.

GGuest UserGood hotel in a convenient Bangkok location and in excellent condition. Everything was clean and worked properly. The staff were polite, friendly, and attentive. Breakfast and housekeeping could be arranged for an extra charge, although we didn’t use these services since there are plenty of places nearby for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The only downside was that you can hear the neighboring room’s doorbell, even when the “Do Not Disturb” mode is on. Also, fresh water and toilet paper were not replenished automatically. The rooftop pool was a nice bonus and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Overall, we were satisfied and can confidently recommend this hotel.

SSS05Holiday Inn Bangkok: Perfect Solo Weekend Retreat Near Emsphere I recently spent a relaxed long weekend (just over two nights) solo at Holiday Inn Bangkok, right next to Emsphere mall. As an NRI zipping between Hong Kong and Bangkok for work, I needed a hassle-free spot with easy access to shopping, dining, and BTS— this nailed it. Location (5/5): Smack in Sukhumvit's heart, it's a 1-min walk to Emsphere's trendy shops, cinemas, and food scene. BTS Phrom Phong is 5 mins away, making airport runs and city jaunts effortless. No taxi drama in Bangkok traffic! Room & Comfort (4.5/5): My superior room was spotless, modern, and spacious for solo use— king bed was plush, blackout curtains ensured deep sleep despite city buzz. Huge bathroom with rain shower and amenities felt luxurious. Minor nitpick: AC was a tad noisy at night, but earplugs fixed it. Free Wi-Fi was speedy for my work calls. Service & Facilities (4/5): Staff were warm and efficient—check-in was instant, and they upgraded my view gratis. Gym and pool on the 8th floor offered stunning skyline vistas; poolside was quiet for solo unwinding. Breakfast buffet was solid (fresh Thai/Western options), but could use more variety for repeat stays. Value (4.5/5): At ~THB 4,500/night (booked via app), it's a steal for the location and IHG perks. Quiet for a city hotel, ideal for solo travelers avoiding party vibes. Overall: 4.5/5. Highly recommend for short business-leisure trips. Will return!

GGuest UserAddressed to Jon Warmington, the General Manager I recently stayed at Grand Mercure Bangkok Atrium room 842 from 27 May to 1 June and would like to share some feedback regarding my experience. First and foremost, I would like to emphasize that I genuinely enjoyed my stay. The hotel, facilities, and the majority of the team members provided excellent service, and overall I had a pleasant experience. In fact, I am not the type of guest who frequently raises complaints. During my travels, I spend very little time in my hotel room. Most of my day is spent outside the property, and my interaction with the hotel is generally limited to breakfast and sleeping. As such, it takes a significant issue for me to feel compelled to formally raise a concern. The first issue relates to breakfast. During my stay, I invited a Muslim friend to join me for breakfast. He entered the restaurant with me but did not consume any food because he was unable to find suitable options that met his dietary requirements. While I acknowledge that I did not raise this directly with the restaurant team at the time, I was surprised when Reception later informed me that they had verified that my friend had taken breakfast. From my perspective, entering the restaurant should not automatically be considered as consuming breakfast when no food was actually taken. Nevertheless, I have decided to let this matter rest and move on. The second issue is far more serious and is the primary reason for this email. On my final night at the hotel, I was expecting a visitor. However, Reception did not contact me to verify whether I was expecting anyone before allowing my visitor access to the guest floors. Instead, my visitor was simply directed to my room and arrived at my door unannounced. Having worked within the Accor group for approximately 15 years as a Duty Manager in Singapore, I am very familiar with hotel operational procedures, guest privacy standards, and security protocols. It has always been my understanding that when a visitor arrives for an in-house guest, Reception should first contact the guest to obtain authorization before granting access to the room floors. While my visitor was indeed expected on this occasion, Reception had no way of knowing that without contacting me first. Had the visitor not been known to me, this could have resulted in a serious security and privacy issue. In my professional opinion, allowing a visitor direct access to a guest room without prior verification is unacceptable and falls short of the standards expected from an Accor property. What further disappointed me was the handling of the matter after I raised my concern. I wish to be clear that I am not seeking compensation of any kind. My concern is not financial. Rather, I expect an appropriate resolution and acknowledgement of the seriousness of the issue. Simply being told ”sorry” was not sufficient given the nature of the security lapse. The alternatives presented to me by the Night Manager were also, in my view, unreasonable. One option was for me to move to another room on my final night. Considering that I was due to check out the following morning, I found this solution impractical and disruptive. Being asked to pack my belongings and relocate because of an issue that was not caused by me did not seem to be an appropriate resolution. I was also informed that a Reception Manager would speak with me. However, I was unable to wait indefinitely for the manager's arrival. As a guest who was raising a legitimate concern, I do not believe I should have been expected to delay my evening plans or remain available for an uncertain period of time. Furthermore, I was scheduled to leave the hotel at 7:00 AM the next morning in order to arrive at the airport early for my flight. For these reasons, I felt that the issue was not properly addressed during my stay, which is why I am bringing it directly to your attention. I am raising this matter not only as a guest but also

NNari.I recently spent several nights at the Furama Silom Hotel in Bangkok, and if you are looking for a blend of convenience, space, and local flavor, this property is a solid contender. Located on the bustling Silom Road, the hotel stands as a prominent choice for both leisure travelers and business professionals who want to be in the thick of Bangkok’s financial and nightlife district. Spacious Living in a Prime Location The first thing that struck me about Furama Silom is the sheer size of the rooms. In a city where many modern hotels are trending toward compact ”minimalist” spaces, Furama offers an expansive environment. My room was bright, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that provided a fantastic view of the city skyline. The inclusion of a kitchenette was a thoughtful touch, making it feel more like an apartment than a standard hotel room. The location is undoubtedly the hotel's strongest selling point. It is roughly a 10-minute walk to both the Saint Louis and Chong Nonsi BTS stations, making the rest of the city easily accessible. For those who enjoy exploring on foot, the famous Patpong Night Market, the historic Sri Maha Mariamman Temple, and a plethora of local street food stalls and 7-Eleven stores are just a short stroll away. Rooftop Relaxation and Dining The highlight of the stay was the rooftop swimming pool on the 20th floor. It offers a stunning 360-degree panoramic view of Bangkok, which is particularly breathtaking at sunset. There is also a poolside bar where you can unwind with a cocktail after a long day of sightseeing. Regarding the breakfast buffet, it served a decent variety of Western and Asian dishes. While the menu stayed relatively consistent each day, the quality was good, and the dining area provided a welcoming atmosphere to start the morning. Service and Hospitality The staff at Furama Silom deserve a special mention. From the concierge to the housekeeping team, the service was warm and professional. Check-in was efficient, and they were always ready to assist with taxi bookings or local recommendations. Their hospitality truly embodies the ”Land of Smiles.” Points for Consideration While my stay was overall very positive, it is worth noting that the hotel has a bit of a ”vintage” feel. Some parts of the interior show their age, with slightly dated carpets and furniture. However, the hotel is clearly undergoing maintenance and renovations to address this, and given the competitive pricing, the value for money remains exceptionally high. Verdict I would recommend Furama Silom Hotel to travelers who prioritize location and space over ultra-modern luxury. It is a practical, comfortable, and friendly base for exploring everything Bangkok has to offer. Whether you are here for a short business trip or a week-long vacation, it provides a reliable and pleasant experience.
