Wutong Guesthouse

I request for pick up but they said no then we have to walk 2km to the ancient town and to the guesthouse. Mind you its on the hill and on cobblestone with heavy luggages. Once we got there the lady asked why we didnt ask for pick up. Funny. Location was nice cause its inside the ancient town. But we only stay here for a night. Its not worth the trouble to carry the heavy luggage on cobblestone if we knew we wont get the pick up. Fyi no lift if its matter and i dont know if there ‘extra’ oxygen cause i still feel uncomfortable to sleep. They send us to train station so thats a plus.

Second time staying here! Totally love it, the location is great, just beside 四方街 and a quick walk from 南门 and 东门. The room was spacious and clean, very homey feeling. The dogs and cats were really adorable. The lady boss makes delicious mixian, we had their mixian for breakfast everyday. Also, they gave us complementary tea set at their coffee house! Would stay again!

The hotel receiptionist is friendly. I love the leasure stay here.. Their cats are cute.. Room is big.. Peaceful environment.

The staff and the owner are very friendly and helpful. They provide us free tea break and free photo taking at their unique cafe.

I was a solo traveler from Indonesia. Staying at Wutong Guesthouse was one of best decisions in my Yunnan trip. It is located in the Ancient Town, enabled me to explore the Ancient Town easier and earlier. The room is clean and unique, it is traditional style with modern equipments. The hotel staff is super helpful! He guided me to book the ticket bus to Aden, Daocheng because I could not find anything on the internet. It's close to North Gate of Dukezong Ancient Town as well, so it is easier to get Didi/Taxi. I would love to recommend this hotel! PS: I met cute cats and dog there ♥️

stay with my friends for 3 nights, every morning they serve us free breakfast, the noodles really good. every staffs here are very nice and helpful. the location inside the dukezong ancient town, once you arrive call them and the staff will come to pick up your luggage, they also provide free drop off at station, thumbs up. i like the room, big and spacious, including the bathroom, i will probably come back to stay here with my parents.

A nice stay here for 3D2N in ShangriLa. The owner provides paid free transportation from rail station and airport if you stay 2 nights. Simple breakfast provided. Room with heater , warm toilet seat and bath. Do book a ride with a very nice local driver recommended by the Inn to major locations at a very good price. The contact of the driver can be at the chalk board facing the reception. This is helpful as many of the tourist sites are very far. For solo traveller, you will have the 2 cats keeping you company. As it is within the Ancient Town, restaurants and famous temple wheel are within walking distance.
