Shuidongping Scenic Area

There is a place called Shuidongping at the junction of Longshan Town and Yuhua Town in Gulin County. More than 1 million years ago, ancient creatures such as saber-toothed elephants lived here, and the Long March of the Red Army also left footprints here. The main scenic spots in Shuidongping Scenic Spot include "small and large karst caves", "canyon line of sky" and cliff waist big weir. There are three naturally formed karst caves in Shuidongping, namely Guanyin Cave, Shuilian Cave and Yanzi Cave. From the outside, these caves are unremarkable, but after entering, you will find that the natural landscape of stalactites in these three caves is well-preserved and unique in shape, which is breathtaking. In these caves, nearly 20 kinds of paleontological fossils, including saber-toothed elephants, tapirs, etc., have been found, with a number of more than 300 pieces. After research by experts, the age can be traced back to 1 million years ago. In addition to the karst cave, Shuidongping Canyon also has a "canyon line of sky", with Yuhua Town on one side and Longshan Town on the other side. Follow the walking trail built along the stream and go up the stream. When you are tired of walking, you can take off your shoes and socks on the side of the road, get close contact with the emerald stones of the stream, and feel the nature.
