Another Honganji
Higashi Honganji and Nishi Honganji are well known in Kyoto. But in Ichijoji there is another Honganji less known. I just passed by on the way from Shisendo to Konpikuji. The red leaves beside the slo...
The shape of the bell tower is different from that of the general temple, so it is recommended not to miss it.

From the special release of "Huang Fudo (National Treasure)" held at [Manjuin Monzeki] (May 13, 2023 ~ June 30) to [Kinfukuji] Walk ルート on the way ポイント I stopped by. What impressed me was the shape of the bell tower Bonsho (see attached photo), which is different from the shape installed in general temples, may have been cast overseas such as China. (There was no explanation of Bonsho in パンフレット at Kitayama Betsuin). [Main Hall] Spring water ... on the left hand
It is located on a hill near the foot of Mt. Hiei, Ichijoji Temple in Sakyo Ward. It is said that Shinran trained for about 1 years. In the precincts, there was a well that Shinran was said to have purified himself with springing water during his training. There is another little-known Kinpukuji Temple nearby, which is a very good place to enjoy Kyoto, which is not a tourist destination.
Honganji Kitayama Betsuin is quiet. This is a place for Shinran saints to rest. Holy water is springing out here. Also, the shape of the Bonsho has changed, and the sound of the bell is a solid sound, which is different from other bells.
It is a temple of Nishi Honganji, and I went out to the gate while strolling around Shisendo. Suddenly, when I entered the precincts, Western foreigners were worshiping, but the children at the nursery school next door were calling out "Hello" or "What are you praying?" Foreigners also replied that they didn't understand Japanese, so they only said "Hello". Children can be shouted to anyone, and they may be the best diplomat in Japan.
