It was named Stone Lake because of its stone bed considered as a lagoon of Taihu Lake. The scenic area consists of temples, pavilions, towers and cultural relics. The lake has magnificent views and is so tranquil. When we arrived, we were pretty much the only ones there. We also spotted an island with a temple in the lake. I believe there are boat rides that can take you there, but the ticket office was closed and all the boats were tied to the jetty on that day. Nevertheless, it’s a huge scenic area and one can easily spend half a day there! This breathtaking place Is known as Lake Shi or Shi Hu, literally Stone Lake, is a fresh water lake located in the southeast of Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. It is close to Shangfang Mountain, which is a national forest park of China, and it is about 4.5 kilometers away from the urban area of Suzhou. There were many interesting things to do there such as cycling, and many other activities but one thing I really wanted to do there was to capture this shot of the temple on the lake#scenicspotguide This shot was one shot that I really wanted to get since I started doing drone photography in Suzhou, because it’s unlike anything you would see on a daily basis. so I headed out to this location which was a bit of a drive and when I finally arrived it was more majestic than o imagined. How to Enter and Exit the Scenic Area: There are three gates to Shihu: the west gate, east gate, and south gate. If you are driving, you can park at the east gate and south gate. The west gate is often congested and lacks parking. The east gate is the main entrance, and the south gate is less crowded with convenient parking. For those not driving, you can take subway line 3 to Shihu North Station. The scenic area is quite large, and you can take a scenic area bus tour, although the frequency is not high. Alternatively, you can rent electric bikes or bicycles for sightseeing. About Dining: The west gate has small vendors, the east gate has local Suzhou restaurants to try, and the south gate has only one cafe. You can also choose to dine in the Suzhou city area, which is not too far away. 📝Note tips: The newly renovated Guolao Street in the north of the scenic area is not fully open yet, so don't miss out. Opposite the west gate is the Shangfangshan National Forest Park, which is worth a visit if you have time.

Suzhou Stone Lake I went to Stone Lake unintentionally yesterday, -- I started from the west gate, there is not much on this road, it's like a park with few people, but it's very suitable for people to read and run, there are water fir and ginkgo, a corner where no one disturbs. Then I walked the Xingchun Bridge, visited the New Guo Old Street, and a Republic of China garden that doesn't require a ticket - Yuzhuang, this garden is small, but also very elegant, you can see the vast Stone Lake when you walk out of the door, which makes me feel that this garden is better than other gardens in terms of geographical location.
