Not accessible
This monument is found just beside Prince Uji’s mausoleum. But the place it stands is surrounded by fence and not accessible. Therefore the history of this monument is not clear.
There is a stone monument adjacent to the Uji Tomb of Wakaroko Sakurado, but it is surrounded by wire mesh and cannot be reached nearby. I can finally see the ruins of Ukifunemiya by enlarging the photo. I don't know why it surrounds this place, but since the installer is Uji City, I thought it was a waste of tax.
To that extent, go to "Ukifunenomiya Ruins Monument"!
Original Text
There is an area called Shindo on the east side downstream of Uji Bridge, and it is located west of the Imperial Household Agency managed by Shindo Wakko Uji Ryo. In ancient times, the area around this area was said to be the Ukifune Forest and the Ukifune Palace was located, but it was abolished in the mid Edo period and this stone monument remains today. There is a tea plantation on the Uji River from the vicinity, and the current peaceful nature remains.
It was right near "Prince Ojin, Prince Michiwakaroko, Uji Tomb". It was only engraved with the "Ukifunemiya Ruins" on a large stone, but there was an inscription on the pedestal in the foreground. However, it was difficult to get close to it, and this could only be said to be a monument that did not make sense.
