Friendship Ducao

The Friendship Aqueduct is a section of the Unity Canal and Branch Canal in Weiyuan County, Hulukou Reservoir, under the jurisdiction of the Sichuan Governor and Administration Bureau. Construction began on September 20, 1969 and water was completed on January 28, 1972. The Friendship Aqueduct is located on the Shuangcha River in Sansheng Village, at the intersection of Gaoshi Town and Yanling Town. Its design is exquisite, the construction project is huge, majestic, and it is a miracle of water conservancy engineering. On January 10, 2019, it was listed as a cultural relics protection unit in Sichuan Province.

Looking at the solid body of the aqueduct, I seemed to see the people of that era, still with a firm belief in the backwardness of technology and the hardship of the environment, cast this great project with sweat and wisdom. Their struggle and dedication not only left us with solid projects, but more importantly, left us with precious spiritual wealth.
