Photos of Our Lady of the Angels Trappistine Abbey

Founded in 1898 by eight nuns sent from France to Japan, Trabiscino Ladies' Convent is the first women's convent in Japan, and dozens of nuns still live a monastic life under strict discipline. The inner courtyard of the monastery is off-limits to visit, but the vestibule is open to visitors. The red brick buildings here are fresh and unique, and there are sculptures such as the Virgin Mary in the courtyard, giving people a holy impression. The daily life of the nuns is displayed in the special exhibition room. In addition, the monastery has a gift shop that sells a variety of gifts such as butterscotch and white chocolate made by the convent nuns.
