Huili Ancient City is located in Huili County within the Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture. It has a history of more than two thousand years and is a famous Chinese historical city. Known as the "The Lock of Sichuan and Yunnan," it is just across the Jinsha River from Yunnan and both the gateway and fortress of the Southern Silk Road. Today, it is still a quaint old town. The center of the city is the original Bell and Drum Tower. From the tower, the city extends into four streets leading off in the four cardinal directions. This is the center of the ancient city and the soul of Huili. Even if a visitor only wanders about the city, it is possible for him or her to enjoy themselves with the many delicious street foods found here.
