Shaxi Ancient Town was once an important station on the ancient tea-horse road. Now Shaxi is quieter and simpler, and it also better preserves the style of the tea-horse town. Xingjiao Temple is a major attraction of Shaxi. It is the only remaining Baidu “Atoli” Buddhist temple in the Ming Dynasty. The murals and sculptures inside are worth savoring. Walking on the street slowly enjoys the ancient city of Dali. Quiet and comfortable.
