Perfect Sunsets @ Gaomei Wetlands

Perfect sunset to watch with bae☺️
Gaomei Wetlands is over 300 hectares of grassy, mossy, muddy flat land on the west coast of Central Taiwan at the mouth of the Dajia River.
The scenery is incredibly breathtaking! Although please don’t forget to wear your wind jacket! During my visit, the wind was veeery strong. Be sure to book a transport home in advance as we had trouble getting a grab!

Instgram worthy windmills at Gaomei Wetlands
Gaomei Wetlands is famous for sunsets, with the windmills as the backdrop and muddy wetlands in the foreground. Beware of the extremely strong winds, strong enough to blow away any loose objects. If you are feeling adventurous, you may walk in the mud at the demarcated part of the wetland at the end of the boardwalk. There are street stalls selling snacks if you are craving for something to eat.
As this place is not the most accessible from the city centre, it is strongly advised to get there by car or have a private driver to bring you around. Buses at limited frequencies are available if you still prefer public transport but you need to cross the bridge, and note the timing of the buses and plan accordingly.

BLOW OFF THE CHAFF at GAOME
Experience the winds and windmills at Gaome Wetlands! If you into meditation or you just want to experience something different, Gaome is the place to be!
If you travel Taiwan, make this place as your bucket-list! This wetland park is free. No more entrance fees etc. Egrets/pelicans are all over this place, so enjoy the view and the winds!
You can find restaurants near this wetland, so you can enjoy milktea, or any taiwanese food in this place.

Rainbow Village Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Falling in Love with Rainbow Village, Taiwan
Let me take you on a journey to a place that will ignite your imagination: Rainbow Village in Taiwan. Believe me when I say, this vibrant wonderland is unlike anything you've ever seen.
As I stepped into Rainbow Village, I couldn't help but let out an audible gasp. The explosion of colors surrounding me was simply mesmerizing! Each wall was a canvas of dreams, showcasing whimsical creatures and captivating scenes that seemed straight out of a fairy tale. I felt like a kid again, ready to explore this enchanting playground.
But Rainbow Village isn't just about the visuals; it's about the incredible story behind it. Mr. Huang, the village's sole resident, single-handedly saved this place from destruction. With his trusty paintbrush, he breathed life into the walls, turning them into vibrant works of art. Meeting him and hearing his tales was a privilege I'll cherish forever.
Every step I took in Rainbow Village was a photo opportunity waiting to happen. I couldn't resist capturing every vivid detail, from the cheerful creatures to the whimsical scenes. And the best part? The locals, with their warm smiles, welcomed me like an old friend, making me feel right at home.
So, if you find yourself in Taiwan, do yourself a favor and make a beeline for Rainbow Village. Let the colors ignite your imagination, the stories touch your soul, and the warmth of this magical place stay with you long after you've left. Trust me, it's a journey you won't want to miss!

Colorful Rainbow Village in Taichung 🌈
If you search "What to Visit in Taichung", you probably will get this place as top 3 recommendation of attraction in Taichung. Rainbow village is an area with amazing wall painting that is full of story and history!
I visited it in the Summer, and many people did too. I went there by Taichung city bus. Fortunately, some of bus/minibus in Taichung charged free for certain distance. My suggestion when you visit this place, please remember the Chinese name of it as well (彩虹眷村) since when I asked the local about its exact location, they didn't familiar with the "Rainbow Village" as its English name ✨

Miyahara Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
INSTA-WORTHY ICECREAM & BBT STORE 🍨
Most beautifully curated ice-cream. Miyahara is a must come destination in Taichung. It has a main store, ice-cream and bubble tea store.
They have a huge and very interesting varieties of flavours to choose from.
Also, many toppings to choose from. E.g. pineapple cake, cheesecake, etc.
Their biggest serving cost about SGD10-12, which comes with 3 or 4 toppings and can serve up to 2-3pax. Of course, you can additional add on more toppings if you wish.
There is always a queue outside the ice-cream store, but their service is very efficient.
Definitely recommend ice-cream lovers to come try.
Very instagram-worthy, too 👍

MIYAHARA (Most Instagram-worthy store in 台中)
This is a place where you must visit whenever you're in Taichung. This place was recommended to me by a friend. I didn't think of it much at first, but when I stepped into the main store, I was taken away by the impressive interior and layout of the whole place.
It was packed with tourists who came by to shop for local snacks and souvenirs.
There were also some who just came in to take pictures & videos of the place only.
The store has a huge range of varieties, from sun cakes to pineapple cakes to chocolates and even tea leaves/bags. And all of their packaging are definitely on point and worth giving as a souvenir.
All of their staff were professional, helpful, and can converse in basic English. They know their products well.
This place is definitely very instagram-worthy.
It's definitely a place you need to visit, no regrets! 👍

Miyahara at Taichung
Miyahara at Taichung, is famous with their desserts, but you definitely need to try their restaurant which located at 1st floor. For dine in, you need to make a reservation earlier, walked in is subject to availability , luckily there was a slot for us, we was early celebrating Mother’s Day in early May, and there was a Mother’s Day package, so we took that. It is enough for 5 adults.
Foods and service were definitely 4.5/5. A bit of pricy but it is worth.
Definitely recommended to try their restaurant!#taichung #miyahara #foodie #deliciousfood #mytripvlog #urbanexplorer #tripblazers

Confectionery disguises in contemporary books
#createwithtrip
To be honest, I have never see a confectionery and ice cream shop like this before. It was so elegantly designed and culturally significant. Mayahara is so famous till it has became one of the must visit location for tourists in Taichung.
Miyahara is located at no 20 Zhongshan Road, Central District. By looking at the Mandarin name, you might think that it is ophthalmologist shop as the original name suggested.
I was so inspired by the entrepreneur of this confectionery shop in packaging everything in such a beautiful way, presenting it as a book or volume of books. So creative and clever.
For a person like me who often travel lite , I end up buying a full box full of confectionery. Incredible. Not to be mistaken, all biscuits and confectionery tasted delicious.
Definitely a must visit place if you are touring Taichung.

Feng Chia Night Market Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Whirlwind of Flavours @ Feng Chia Night Mkt
Feng Chia Night Market was an electrifying whirlwind of sights and flavors.
Navigating through its bustling streets was a sensory overload, with vibrant lights and enthusiastic vendors calling out to passersby.I was drawn to the countless foodstalls by the aroma of sizzling meats and spices that filled the air. Trying to go on diet with this dizzying array of delectable street snacks is gonna be really tough. From crispy fried chicken to savory stinky tofu, each bite was a tantalizing adventure for my taste buds. Among the sea of options, the grilled beef cubes was my favourite, with its perfect blend of tenderness, charred flavor and spicy seasoning.
Amidst the lively atmosphere and mouthwatering treats, Feng Chia Night Market truly embodied Taipei's culinary spirit. I will be back for you soon!

Feng Chia Night Market
Address: Wenhua Rd, Xitun District, Taichung City, Taiwan
The market is located next to Feng Chia University.
Highlights: It was a wonderful experience visiting the Feng Chia night market. In this market you can find a variety of Taiwanese snacks and souvenirs. The food might be slightly on the expensive site as this is more of a touristy place now. However, you wont be regret trying all those traditional foods here.
I would recommend to take taxi here or if possible, book a hotel nearby as there is hard to get parking.
Lastly, remember to empty your stomach before visiting!!😆

Fengjia Night Market's general class and taste personally feel that it is definitely among the best in the night market I have eaten. However, when I booked a stay in Taichung, I decided to take it. It is close to Fengjia University, with a relaxed atmosphere and a quiet price. I think the night market has a very important role in Taiwanese culture. It is not only selling snacks, but also combining with temple fairs. The feeling of visiting the night market is that the whole person is very relaxed and happy. In a Fengjia Night Market, there will be no thunder in a booth. You must know that you can survive in the first night of the Taiwanese market. The taste will not be bad. The only thing I want to remind everyone is that the lightning protection is the paving of the "General's lo mei". It is a pity that this pavilion is still old and many local people will eat it. I personally feel that the taste is average, the most important thing is the foreign guests. For example, we ordered a 40-million duck tongue, which would offer NT100 and a short price of two. This experience is very bad.
Popular paving:
1) Your home my home taste
2) Jin Xiang Mung bean milk
3) North back papaya milk
4) Guan Lin Lin large intestine package small intestine / Hh/5) massage chicken chops
6) Ming Lun quiche
7) small A cheese acacia
Yoki Huang.
Fengjia Night Market is backed by Fengjia University and close to residential areas. It is currently the largest sightseeing night market in Taiwan.
As the biggest night market in Taiwan, it is really too crowded! The foreign road shop inside and outside is all people. It is recommended to buy something in a shop and then go to the next store to buy it, and then come back to take it, otherwise it will waste a lot of time.
However, in the night market, I checked out the over-the-counter meal, stinky tofu, gold right leg and other net red food, the taste is really good!
Milk tea madman also drank the food of the Michelin two-star milk tea, which is also very good!
