Our family recently visited and had a great time. Yes, the tar pit did smell but it wasn’t actually as bad as some people say. The museum is also good but not that big so you don’t need much time to go around. The exhibits were very interesting and some of our family loved history and archaeology so it was perfect for them. There is also a lovely little garden to walk around in the gardens of the museum.

There is only one dish in the whole restaurant, which is the fish soup set. I went to the early morning and it was full of people. The fish soup was light and fresh, and it was accompanied by rice kimchi and other mixed dishes. It is a rich breakfast! ...
We love this museum, it has some interactive displays, like trying to get something out of the asphalt and see what it is. There are hundreds of exhibits of fossils, each with information about what it is, how many years it has been there, when the animals fell, what the animals were like, and we paid a little extra (about $16 a person in total) to watch a short film, This short film tells the story of why there are so many fossils in the asphalt pits and the history of the asphalt pits. The asphalt pits themselves are independent of the museum and are free and worth a visit. You can also see their current projects.
Great, the archaeological site presentation is very special, the video film introduction content is very high, it is really Los Angeles.
This is an incredible museum with lively asphalt pits. We just happened to visit on the third Tuesday of the month, and the $15 ticket was $0!! We spent $5 for a movie about asphalt pits. This movie tells you about the great history of asphalt pits and museums. Loved it. I was stunned by the incredible skeleton of prehistoric mammals. Too much. They have a great jungle-type area inside the museum. Knowledgeable volunteers walked around answering questions. Funny interactive activities enjoyed all. We parked behind the building ($15) and walked a short walk to the entrance. I don’t know what parking lot is in front of the park. Wheelchairs are very convenient in the museum. They have a great gift shop. Everything is great. There is a working lab in the museum and volunteers are cleaning up small bones removed from the asphalt pit. Visitors can see through the glass that they work. There is a rope-bound area ahead, there are squeaking, active asphalt pits. It’s wonderful!!! This is a must-see in Los Angeles.
