Xi'an
Xi'an
Xi’an City is one of the world's four great ancient cities, being most famous for its role as the starting point of the Silk Road. In the past, it was previously known as Chang'an. Familiar to every Chinese person, this is a name that evokes a sense of pride. Xi’an is widely regarded as the greatest city in Chinese history. During imperial dynasties such as the Zhou, Qin, Han and Tang, this was the nation's capital city. The Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor sits quietly on the outskirts of town waiting to welcome visitors. Big Wild Goose Pagoda offers adventure for travelers in search of traces left behind by monk Xuanzang. The towering heights of the city walls have 600 legends and stories to tell. Xi’an City's local delicacies are a must-try. There are many different types of food, all of which are completely suffused with the characteristics of northwestern China. They are highly praised.

BeckyAbsolutely incredible! The photos you see online don’t do justice to this incredible slice of ancient China. The place is huge, and being so close to the Warriors is a wonderful experience. Given that it is currently a pandemic, I was expecting it to be difficult as a foreigner to get a ticket to visit - this could not be further from the truth. We took a Didi from Xi’an City Wall (about ¥120 one way... pricey yes. I hear there’s also a tourist bus you can take), and after some security checks - Green Xi’an Health Code; passport - we were able to buy a ticket with cash or WeChat easily. We took about 2 hours to visit the three pits and the exhibition hall - you can then take a connecting bus to visit Qin Shi Huang’s mausoleum. I recommend visiting Pits 2 & 3 and THEN Pit 1 for maximum effect!Well worth the trip and an absolute must-see if you’re visiting Xi’an!

VictoriaThe walls of Xi’an were beautiful even on a cloudy day. It’s fun to bike around, though give yourself a few hours to go around and pack a snack and water. a beautiful part of history.

MaxSThis is very romantic place! Couples, please, do not miss this spot! Bright, beautiful and romantic! The park is big and includes several sections. Small performances are organized in every part and shown during the day several times. The big show is evening gala, must be watched! The story of Xi'an, former Chang An, told via dancing and music with very professional actors. This place has a special meaning for me... I met here my wife))))

China is an enormous country. The world’s most populous nation is a case study in contradiction. Gleaming skyscrapers dot the Shanghai skyline while the garrison at Jiayuguan has guarded the country’s western approaches since the Ming Dynasty. Time seems frozen in Shangri-La, deep in remote Yunnan Province. Beijing’s modern architecture rises above centuries old, densely-packed hutongs. Everywhere you go you find a country constantly moving towards the future yet never managing to escape its past. In this short guide, we provide our recommendations to those places that captured our imagination. Places that stuck in our heart and minds long after we left. This is our insider’s travel guide to contemporary China.
