Hanushini suthasan kamran
I booked this hotel for friends, and they really enjoyed their stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was very kind and helpful. Everything went smoothly with the check-in, and the location was convenient. I'm happy with the choice and would book it again
It was alright. The location was decent, and getting around Penang by taxi is super convenient. However, it's a bit far from the main tourist attractions. There's a water dispenser on the first floor, which is really handy. I heard there's a really good cake shop nearby, but honestly, the cake I tried was just so-so.
Great! It's within walking distance of the city center pedestrian street. Others thought it might be noisy at night, but it was actually fine. The room was very clean and quiet. The air conditioning wasn't great and didn't work at night. The kitchen facilities were complete, and the internet was good.
Sutharasan & Aized was treated very well at reception. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom was clean. Had a good sleep for me and for my friends. Had all the convenient things such as iron, hairdryer, heater and etc. Thank you.
This hotel is really great. For the first time i decide to book Gather Inn, i don't have any expectations. I choose Family Suite for max 4 people (bcs Trip.com give me a discount too hehe) But, the location suprisingly good!!! Pasar Chowrasta, 24 hours Laundry, Bakery, Nasi Kandar Deen Mutiara, Cheng Woh Herbal Store, Toh Soon Cafe, Bagel's Dream, Berlys Lebuh Leith and many places. I also love their hospitality ๐ญโค๏ธ All the crew are friendly to us. If i got another chance to visit Penang again, i will no hesitate to book this hotel.
I stayed in the female dorm, and everyone was very respectful of personal space; it wasn't noisy at night. Lights out was promptly at 11 PM. The only downside is that it's located above a bar street, and the soundproofing isn't great, so you can hear music at night. It felt very safe here, with each room having a password lock, and all the guests were polite and considerate. The room had no windows, which led to a slight odor, but the air conditioning ran 24/7 (and was adjustable), so it could get a bit cold at night. The bed was a super single size, big enough for two of me, with plenty of space and a comfortable mattress โ no sagging whatsoever. The bedside lamp had adjustable brightness, and each bunk had curtains, so you wouldn't disturb others' sleep. WiFi was available in the room. The common area had no air conditioning, only fans, but there was a hot/cold water dispenser, disposable cups, coffee, and dishes/cutlery. The restrooms were relatively clean, equipped with shower gel and a water heater, but no hairdryer. A slight inconvenience was that male staff would come in at 12 PM on checkout days to change sheets and clean, even if other guests were still in the dorm, but they were respectful and didn't bother me; I just kept my curtains closed. Overall, I was very satisfied. The price was cheap, it was a 15-minute walk from the train station, and the central location made it convenient to get everywhere. I'd definitely come back! ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป
The accommodation was clean with comfortable air conditioning. The staff provided excellent service. It's close to a variety of food options, and the price is good. It's quiet, clean, and the rooms are affordable, plus it's near a street food area.
Considering the price, this hotel is reasonable for a short stay. It has all the basic necessities, but if you're looking for something particularly comfortable, it's just okay. The main drawback of the hotel is the soundproofing.
Please inform Trip.com the hotel address stated in their record is wrong!!
The grab car dropped me off at No. 75, Lebuh Chulia as GPS did not have Chulia street, he thought is the same address I. MALAY words but after I dropped off I couldn't't find the Chulia Street.
The correct address should be โ75 Muntri street, George Town, Penang
More over yesterday was raining, it passed 12.00am mid night, I had to walk from Lebuh Chulia to your hotel in the rain using my Google Map for more than 15 minutes.
Hotel person inchraged also did not take my call when I called for the 1st time to give me a proper instructions to get into the hotel via digital lock at main glass door. It was one hotel guest happened to came back to the hotel n let me got into the hotel.
It was the 2nd call he had answered.
The hotel is good condition n clean n value for money except for the above wrong address given by Trip.com to get into the hotel especially after 11.30pm as I wasted 1 hour + to walk in the rain.
The room wooden door digit lock of room 208 is not in good condition.
The shower/toilet issues.
# the hot water heater at last cubicle on 2nd floor is leaking at the inlet pipe area, this can cause electrocuted to shower taker. Extremely dangerous.
#The toilet paper holder position in all shower cubicles are directly opposite the water heater. All toilet paper are wet.
Very Good

MMuhammad_Ali_HashemiCertainly! Below is a **detailed, balanced, and constructive review template** for **Hangoutspacez Queensbay** (or a similar budget/co-living space in Penang). Since this isnโt a widely documented property, Iโll structure it generically so you can adapt it based on your actual experience.
---
### **Hangoutspacez Queensbay โ Honest Review**
**Location: โ โ โ โ โ** (4/5)
- **Pros:** Close to Queensbay Mall (5โ10 min walk), easy access to restaurants, supermarkets, and public transport. Convenient for business travelers (Bayan Lepas tech zone) or tourists exploring Penangโs south.
- **Cons:** Not in the heart of tourist spots like George Town (requires Grab/taxi).
**Cleanliness: โ โ โ โโ** (3.5/5)
- **Pros:** Daily cleaning for common areas; linens provided are fresh.
- **Cons:** Occasional maintenance issues (e.g., slow drain in showers, worn-out furniture). Budget vibeโdonโt expect luxury.
**Facilities: โ โ โ โโ** (3/5)
- **Pros:** Free WiFi (decent speed), communal kitchen, and lounge area. Good for solo travelers or digital nomads.
- **Cons:** No gym/pool; shared bathrooms can get crowded during peak hours.
**Staff & Service: โ โ โ โ โ** (4/5)
- Friendly and helpful for local tips, but limited 24/7 front desk support.
**Value for Money: โ โ โ โ โ** (4/5)
- Affordable for Penang (around RM50โ100/night for dorms). Ideal for short stays, but may lack long-term comforts.
**Room for Improvement:**
1. **Better Soundproofing** โ Noise from common areas can be heard in private rooms.
2. **More Power Outlets** โ Limited charging points in dorms.
3. **Clearer House Rules** โ E.g., quiet hours or kitchen cleanup policies.
**Verdict:**
A **no-frills, social budget stay** best suited for backpackers, solo travelers, or those attending nearby events. Manage expectationsโitโs functional but not luxurious.

### **How to Use This Review Constructively:**
- **If Youโre a Traveler:** Compare with alternatives (e.g., Tune Hotel, capsule hostels). Prioritize location vs. price.
- **If Youโre the Property Owner:** Address cleanliness/maintenance, add clear signage for rules and maybe create any accessible lockers available to utilize the space in the efficient manner.
KKrisma Magdalena AdiI booked the balcony room for 2 night
The first night I got the balcony room but it was so small.
But gratefully I can change for the second day.
So next time u book a balcony room, make sure to book room no. 205
Bigger and the bathroom has a huge door to the balcony as well.
The location is soooooo convenient. Bus no. 101 and 102 literally stop next to the hotel.
The other bus line is just a 5 minute walk.
Many street food nearby
RRonin tanThe overall experience of my stay was great. The hotel environment was quiet, and the room decor was simple but very comfortable. The bedding was clean, and the hygiene was excellent, making for a very reassuring stay. Every day, coming back to the room felt relaxing, without any pressure.
The hotel's surroundings also offered great amenities. There were many food stalls and restaurants nearby with a wide variety of choices, all at very affordable prices. There was no need to specially take a ride to find food. Whether it was for breakfast, lunch, or a late-night snack, meals were easily sorted.
With its convenient location, clean environment, and high value for money, it was a very satisfying accommodation experience. If I'm ever in this area again, I would consider staying here once more.
GGuest UserFor travellers who travel by train, the location is excellent, walkable to the train station. Why walk when you can get a grab car easily? To walk off all the rich food we eat!
The hotel is also within walking distance to the ferry terminal (Penang Sentral). So if you arrive via ferry from Georgetown, no problem! I walked to the ferry terminal to take a ferry to Georgetown!
Adding to the convenience, there is a supermarket and self service laundromat near the hotel.
The hotel has a lift, which is convenient, if you are assigned a higher floor. No need to carry yourself and your luggage to your room. But no chance to work off the extra calories. I'm not complaining, though
Reception is 24 hours. I had to leave very early as I had an early train to catch, but was able to collect back the RM50 deposit. Oh yes, RM2 was collected during check in. Trip.com had informed me at the time of booking, so this is not a surprise to me
The room that was assigned to me is spacious. The bathroom is well laid out. Shower on one side, WC on another side and sink in the middle. Shower gel was provided. Shampoo was not provided. It might be because the gadget for the shampoo container was broken.
I booked a windowless room. But because it was spacious, I did not miss not having a window. I paid a higher price for my room, I don't know why my receipt showed a much lower price.
In summary, I would stay in this hotel again if I go again to Butterworth

PpinkymeowFriendly staffs, clean room and comfortable stay. Giant Supermarket within walking distance very convenient. Restaurant and convenient store just round the corner.
GGuest UserThis was a temporary stopover near the airport. The environment was, to put it mildly, not great. The shower and toilet weren't separated, and as it's a Muslim household, you can't wear shoes inside, which made using the bathroom quite a hassle. Another issue was the significant noise from the road. However, it was cheap and close to the airport, and the host was very welcoming.
GGuest UserThe young girl staff very polite and friendly
I feel touch
The location is very conveniently
Outside from the hostel just opposite there has many of restaurants and shops
It has different types of food and desserts
The price is reasonable
Itโs quite clean
Call grab is convenient also
I think I will be back again
GGuest User- Location is strategic
- Cleanliness is good, all plug points can be used and wifi connection is strong too.
- limited parking space,
- Self check-in, owner will give you instruction before you arrived.
- feels like home.
- good place to stay.
GGuest UserI love the vending machine downstairs! Very convenient for last minute buys. The room was clean and cozy. Had a good warm bath and a nice sleep before the next day's journey!
