Mahdia is a city built on a peninsula, located 200 km south of Tunis. Its economy is mainly focused on fishing (Tunisia's first fishing port) and on tourism (its white sandy beaches where you can collect shells with a shovel, its history and the welcome of its inhabitants make it the 'one of the most popular seaside resorts in Tunisia).
