First time in Crete and glad to find this little gem. We were in Room 207, which is on the floor of reception. The room is a fair size and is decorated very nicely with fridge and tea/coffee making facilities (mugs). They also supply slippers and shampoo/conditioner, body lotion, shower gel and a decent hairdryer! Pros: extremely clean, fresh towels everyday, staff very friendly and efficient, I mean all staff from reception, cleaners to the staff in the restaurant to Andreas in the bar. Choice of food. Quiet rooms. Snacks throughout the day Cons: only 2 bottles of water supplied on arrival ( in fridge), view ( as corner room v limited v of sea me being short!) the devision between the room 206 (balcony divider) was less than hip height and no privacy. Beach towels to be put on balcony or chairs to air as nowhere to hang. Food wasn’t hot even when freshly bought out or first in, thou microwave is supplied? Seats were uncomfortable by bar and not a lot of. Would be handy for late rooms to be booked day before but understand the not being guaranteed. Aircon led very bright! My suggestions especially as I booked AI is that the 2 small bottles of water be placed in fridge everyday, the seating by the bar could be made better in the evening if the beanbags went and you had stackable sunbeds during day and at night bought tables and chairs ( even chairs in restaurant were comfy) out so more people would sit at bar rather than in rooms! Supplying a microwave means you know you have an issue with the temperature of food… fix the hot plates to keep the food hot. Saying all this we would love to return so couldn’t of been that bad!

This is our 3rd stay with mare group in georgeopolis and I have to say it has been great. The staff are excellent and it's always a pleasure to stay here. They now have a new hotel around the corner and clearly pride themselves on looking after guests. Thank you and hopefully see I soon

The hotel is nice and most staff are friendly. My biggest complaint is the food is basic, unlabelled and cold and there is only 4 cocktails to choose from that are included and only 1 that was really nice. We spent over £200 on alternative food and drinks in almost a week as we didn’t want to eat the food there. But the hotel room was cleaned everyday with fresh towels. The beach beds were basic and not many of them so we used other hotels and the view from out room was bins and a building site.

So, firstly, it was a 3 night trip, for my sister, brother, aunt and me. I didn't breakfast as the bar was too good. Spotlessly clean rooms. And nicely modern too. Huge walk in shower. Two small bottles of water in the fridge. It wasn't busy - a little over half full. Every time I went for a bite to eat I found food I liked and the drinks service in the restaurant was good too. My aunt wasn't too happy with the food or temperature of it. The other three of us thought it was ok. Only complaint from my sister was the lack of even a house brandy on the all-inclusve. Positives - reception staff very nice - Andy behind the bar (the trip wouldn't have been as good without him) - Cleanliness - Great value Negatives see text above, but from me, none.

To put it bluntly, this place is disgusting, we got there late at night because of our flight time and couldn't find where to check-in, when we finally checked in, we where taken to another site abouts ten minutes away from were we had checked in to what could only describe as a run down estate not the mare boutique hotel that we had checked into, the site seems as if they just fixed up very quickly to put guests in, the place was crumbling down and very direlect, as for the room it was dirty, full of insects, cold as the ac/heating system wasn't working and no hot water, after numerous trip to reception to complain, they finally fixed the hot water but we had to continue staying in the cold room. As for the food, it's horrible, it's only pre- prepared food that they brought in by car, the hot food always cold and the cold food warm, the good thing about this place is the staff who seems to be working in a difficult place, and as for the manager we think that he is the most horrible and ignorant person ever to tourists, the only reason why we didn't check out from our first day, we couldn't find anywhere else to stay. I would never make the mistake of ever staying at this place again or recommend it to anyone

Just wanted to take a moment to compliment the service we received from Niko this morning. You guys were super busy and she was fantastic. Good location for us, quick walk across the road to an area of restaurants.

We had a lovely week in Georgioupolis the reason for my low score will become apparent. Firstly our room was clean, modern with a large comfortable bed, a decent sized balcony but not much of a view. The bathroom was modern and clean spacious. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided as were toiletries, which i appreciated. There was good aircon and a mini fridge. The small safe was an extra charge. The housekeeper attended daily with fresh towels, her work was immaculate. The rest of the hotel is where it all falls apart. The restaurant is small and cramped and does not flow. Apart from some very nice soup the food was awful, dishes not labelled, tough meat. We were lucky if the food was warm, most of the week it was stone cold. The deserts were tiny, the jelly was in a shot glass and contained two teaspoons of jelly. The bar area was nice and had a lovely view out to sea, the problem was a lack of seating, if 12 people were in the area the seats were gone and we ended up taking drinks back to our balcony. The drinks seemed of decent quality and sandwiches, peanuts and crisps were available. The hotel provided 12 sunbeds on a small area of beach outside the hotel, we only managed to lay on these once. The Mare Blue Hotel is 50 yards down the road and they have lots of sunbeds on the beach which you are allowed to use, the sunbed mats are filthy and the beach is like a builders yard. Most of the week were kept awake until 2am by drunken rowdy behaviour and even a drunken brawl one night involving a number of youths talking ******** Bruv. Georgioupolis is a lovely sleepy town well worth a visit, just choose your accommodation carefully.

My recent stay at Mare Boutique in Crete was a profound disappoin**ent that fell far short of the enticing portrayal presented in their promotional materials. The disparities between the marketing and the reality of the hotel were staggering. One of the most glaring issues revolved around the food. Contrary to the idea of on-site cooking, we were subjected to a regimen of pre-delivered meals, served three times a day. Regrettably, the quality of these meals was nothing short of abysmal, leaving us with limited, unappetizing options that cast a shadow over our dining experiences, especially with being vegetarian. This resulted in us having to eat out a lot and added to our expenses leaving us massively out of pocket for an all-inclusive holiday. To make matters worse, the hotel sneakily tacked on various hidden extra costs, such as exorbitant charges for the use of a room safe and even bottles of water, which guests are only provided upon arrival. These added expenses felt like an opportunistic money-grab and only served to compound our growing disappoin**ent. This extended to the hotel's touted convenience for visiting nearby destinations, such as Rethymnon and Chania, which was misleading. Transfers to these locales came at an inflated cost, leaving us feeling taken advantage of in our pursuit of exploration. Additionally, the unpleasant stench of rotten eggs permeated the air, emanating from both the drains and the bar area. This noxious odour made every moment in these spaces an ordeal, and it was nothing short of unbearable. Throughout our stay, we were regrettably privy to arguments and fights between couples, which cast a dark cloud over the overall a**osphere. The bar's petite size was a major drawback, as it resulted in an unrelenting level of noise during the evenings. The absence of proper sound insulation created an environment that was far from peaceful, making it impossible to unwind. This not only detracted from our relaxation but also left us with an unsettling feeling of discomfort. Perhaps the most concerning issue was the doubt surrounding the cleanliness of the hotel. Upon returning home, I was diagnosed with scabies, which could have only originated from my stay at Mare Boutique. Upon arrival at the hotel, the room looked immaculate. When I awoke in the morning, I noticed a stain on the bedding which suggested to me that the bedding was not clean. This has not only been physically and emotionally distressing but has also raised questions about the hotel's hygiene standards. In conclusion, Mare Boutique in Crete proved to be a series of disappoin**ents and false promises. From the misrepresented food to the hidden costs, nasty odours, disruptive arguments, noise, and concerns about cleanliness, my stay was marred by a litany of issues that I would not wish upon any traveller. My only positive is that most of the staff were friendly and the close proximity to the beach a bonus. I implore potential guests to look elsewhere for ac
