Few people have a good scenery and cool. It is very close to the capital airport and a taxi is 100 yuan. Suitable for temporary transfer. You can do cable cars and ziplines, and I climbed them myself. Don't worry about the mountain being very short.

Great Wall of China#chinatrip We took the bus from Beijing up to the Great Wall starting at about 7am, hoping to beat the crowds. It was still crazy busy, but at least the morning weather was good for the climb. At the entrance, there are a bunch of shops selling food and souvenirs. There are even a couple bear habitats. From there, we opted for the "toboggan" to take us half way up, to the Fourth Tower. And then the real climb begins. To get all the way to the Eighth Tower is quite the climb. There are uneven steps, and smooth paths, sometimes reaching about a 45degre slope! It was really neat to see and the views are spectacular. Coming down was easier but still difficult in places with uneven steps and such. Overall, it really is a must see, but be prepared for the workout!Tala_Travel102

Great Wall MuTianYu is really great !After 6 years of living in China I got time and energy to visit The Great Wall. I did not have any expectations of my trip even though I heard lots of different opinions .. what can I say ?? I LOVED IT 😍😍😍 Yes it is a bit far from Beijing , me and my partner took a cab to get there ( cost about 300rmb) and it took us about 1,5 h. ( By the way when we were going back we used buses that took us about 2-2,5 hours and cost just about 50rmb for both of us , you can use this option if you’re in budget) The tickets for entrance cost us 150 rmb for both ( we bought it in trip.com) my feelings and emotions of the Wall: - I was amazed by the size of it , imagining that it was build by people gave me sort of goosebumps.. - open cable car was pretty scary ( it was my first time plus I am afraid of heights, my partner was enjoying the view and himself though) - the views are breathtaking 😍I took lots of pics and videos - we went there in August.. and well who was in China in summer knows how hot it can be, be ready to sweat a lot 😃 - I love working out so I enjoyed hiking and walking. #2023travelwish #mytripvlog #beijing #beijingtripOlliF83

Great Wall of China#chinatrip Couple of things that are important, you can't get here during the winter with public transportation except on the weekends. You either need a tour or a private driver. I recommend the private driver you can get a round trip for as little as 300 yuan if you negotiate. Also make sure you push hard on the souvenir sellers there is definitely a foreign tax. Make sure you have the same outfit you might bring on a serious hike. This is a workout if you do the whole wall, so bring layers. The staff is wonderful, friendly and will help with any issues. However the slide is so so only because it is super popular and there are too many people on it at one time.Tala_Travel101

Rather than hiking and being touristy, 长城 (Great Wall) can also be fun. And the Mutianyu section gave exactly that to us. So this time we decided to take on a jolly ride than stretching too much. To go up the Great Wall we took the rope car, and what's fun in it is; not a closed one. Also when we are about to board the rope car, it doesn't stop and take the passengers; it keeps moving on. You have to jump into it and soon after that, it takes flight to the top of Great Wall haha. On the top, we went to the sightseeing lens that let you see for 10¥/min. Later on our way down, we took the Toboggan ride which is the super fun part of it. Yes, all you have is a lever that let you control the brake; otherwise it's a gravitational slide 😂 Also in Mutianyu you have the helicopter ride, which is a bit expensive (obviously); but worth it for once in a lifetime flying over the Great Wall. The day 2 we embarked on a spiritual journey, that led us to the Lama temple and the Confucius temple. It felt so divine in the morning and as it is early spring; the birds and freshly grown leaves in the trees gave a different level of experience. As always in Beijing, the last day of the trip is food exploration (including Peking duck) and we did some shopping in the Wangfujing street. Mutianyu 慕田峪长城 ⛰️Mutianyu (慕田峪长城) is one of the best-preserved and most picturesque sections of the Great Wall of China. It is located in the mountains 70 km northeast of Beijing. I liked this section of the wall much more than Badaling (八达岭). You can get here with a tour group or on your own. If you're going independently, you need to get to the Dongzhimen Public Transport Hub (东直门交通枢纽), take bus 916块, get off at the final stop Huairou Beidajie (怀柔北大街), cross the road, take bus H23, get off at Mutianyu Huandao (慕田峪环岛). Then walk back a little and you'll see the entrance to the ticket offices. Before the entrance to the wall, there is a parking lot, souvenir shops, and cafes. You can buy a ticket for the cable car and ride it to the 14th tower, then walk in either direction. I also recommend buying a ticket for the toboggan ride down from the Great Wall. It costs 100 yuan. The wall itself runs along the mountain ridges, rising to a height of 1,000 meters above sea level. The views are simply stunning - endless crenellated walls wind along the mountain ridges, disappearing into the distance. It's especially beautiful here on a clear day. The Wall at it's Greatest - Mutianyu Day ExcursionExcellent drive out of Beijing through the orchards and the little stalls selling their fruity offerings. Shuttle Bus over to the chair lift, which is a far better ascent than the glitzy glass cable car cabins which you have to scale even further up to (be sure to book the shuttle/entry fee and chair climb before arriving). Hardly anyone was around for the afternoon having arrived around 3pm, so we had the wall to ourselves. We decided on the steep clamber up to Tower two, but there is the option for the more gradual (still steep) climb towards Tower 15. The view over to the mountains and the wall snaking its way over the craggy ridges is formidable. So many photo opportunities without a soul in sight, and the sun was blissfully setting behind the silhouette of the pointed mountain peaks. 1.5hrs is enough time to push the fitness, really enjoy the view from the top and get down for a 5pm toboggan down the hill (it looks far more thrill-seeking than it is, if you opt to lock the brakes down it the whole way at snail speed). Plenty of souvenir bazaars down the bottom if you are up for touristy purchases.D40***9928
