The Hong Kong Film Archive, located at 50 Laijing Road, Sai Wanhe, Hong Kong, covers an area of 1046 square meters, with a total floor area of about 7200 square meters and an exhibition hall area of about 200 square meters. It is a special museum for the art of film art. In 1993, the Hong Kong Municipal Council established the planning office of the Hong Kong Film Archive and established the Hong Kong Film Archive. Since 2000, the Hong Kong Film Archive has been transferred to the management of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. The museum opened on 3 January of the same year. As of November 30, 2008, the collection was about 90.7 million pieces, of which, films: about 8,000 sets; film materials: about 89.9 million items.
