Spent 3 days in connaught hotel Galway , it was just amazing in every way possible, the staff especially Caroline on reception couldn't do enough for me and my husband, Caroline will always go over and beyond for guests in the hotel. I must say staff in general are so so polite and helpful, there is a lovely lady called Christine working there tidying guests rooms and she is so friendly with a beautiful smile for everyone. El Square is also just a pleasant walk away at the opposite end of the main street. The service we got at reception was great. Jonathan was very helpful and advised on where to go, eat, places to visit, etc in Galway We were upgraded to a bigger room on 2nd floor which was huge. .the box of chocolates as welcome gift was a very nice gesture! Ava had our room serviced and cleaned to a great standard The bathroom was big and shower pressure was amazing. Breakfast was good too, with variety but same on all 3 days.

The location of the hotel is really good, right in the center of the city and convenient to go everywhere. The rooms arranged by the hotel are also annexes, and the bathroom should be renovated and clean. The room was very large and had 2 beds.
Breakfast is continental breakfast, hot only boiled eggs, pan cake and tea / coffee. There are slices of ham and salami. There are many types of bread, such as yogurt and fruit. Breakfast is included in the room rate, so don't expect too much.SOLD OUT

It takes about ten minutes to walk from Galway Railway Station. It is not in the center and the location is a bit remote. But the room is big enough and the bed is very big. This is an older hotel that opened quite a while ago, located at the entrance to Galway, which is a great spot. There's public transportation nearby, making it easy to get to the high street. We were given a beautiful room over looking the Circle of Life garden and the sea further on. See photo. Noise from jacuzzi below was bothersome in the morning and I had requested a quiet room, which it was apart from the engines bubbling below. Service in restaurant was incredibly slow for breakfast. Breakfast offering was good; not much pastry wise, but lots of fruits, gorgeous cheese, avocados even, good quality Oj. But the Coffee was sludge and undrinkable. Though the View over Galway bay is beyond compare. Room was comfortable though dated but very clean except at one point in the shower I looked down to see a chunk of long black hair stuck to my foot… 2000% not mine. That was pretty gross. It must have been sitting in the drain as I’d have noticed before getting in. Cockroaches in the shower are a more welcome site than that. Bathroom is modern and shower had good power. Bed was soft but comfortable. Staff throughout the hotel were friendly and helpful. Pool is small, sauna is great. Pool not too clean/ Two discarded plasters on the side. Absolutely fantastic time. The room was very spacious, the bed was really big and comfortable too. Jesus at the restaurant was very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Plenty parking spaces. Taxi into town between 7-10euro.
I would definitely recommend getting the breakfast, they have fantastic choices, everything was delicious .
I will definitely come back to this hotel. Galway is absolutely amazing too, maybe a 15min walk into centre, but taxi was cheap so that's how we travelled.FromTHB 3,380
