I been to Kata twice and honestly so far this is the best stay I been.
Staff is friendly, the owners a kind and helpful.
The location is the best to my opinion, 2 blocks from the Main Street that bring you to the beach (besides beyond kata) it takes you 15-20 min to get there but is perfect.
I love it because is cozy and quiet.
There was not kids while I’ve stayed (5 nights) which was perfect.

We stayed near here for a summer camp. The room was backlit, damp, and generally okay. However, we asked for hangers for 9 days and never got a single one! Friday night was incredibly noisy, it felt like there was a party right above our heads! On Saturday, we had an early start for a day trip, so we were forced to stay up late... If youre looking for a sleek, ultra modern 5 star resort, this may not be for you. But if you want authentic Thai hospitality, traditional Thai-inspired architecture, lush tropical surroundings, and a peaceful beachfront escape, this resort is absolutely worth it.
I stayed here as a solo traveler and had one of the most relaxing stays Ive experienced. Its also perfect for couples, honeymooners, and families.
I was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a sea-view hillside cottage even though I booked one of the more affordable room categories. The private beach was the main reason I chose this resort and it was exactly what I was looking for, quiet, uncrowded, and perfect for relaxing. I also loved the petting zoo, the beautiful pool, and the delicious food. Every staff member we encountered was warm, welcoming and genuinely helpful.
Special thanks to Ms. Chuty and Ms. Kat at the front desk for making our stay even more memorable. They assisted us during checkout, kindly reminded us about a few belongings we had accidentally left in the room without ever making us feel rushed, and even allowed us to extend our stay until 12:30 PM, which we truly appreciated. Since our flight was later in the afternoon, they also arranged lounge access so we could comfortably wait in an airconditioned area until it was time to leave. Their kindness and thoughtfulness really reflected the genuine hospitality of the resort.
I also appreciated the complimentary refreshments in the lobby, the beach bag provided for guests, the convenient buggy service, and the fact that ordering GrabFood was easy.
My only suggestion would be to upgrade the TVs to Smart TVs. Other than that, everything exceeded my expectations. This resort may not be the newest, but it’s clean, wellmaintained, peaceful, and full of character. If you appreciate nature, privacy, and heartfelt service over ultra modern luxury, you’ll absolutely love staying here.

We booked two Deluxe Rooms (two queen-size beds, with balcony) in February, and in June, we found out the water park was under renovation. We were told there would be extra pools, slides, trampolines, etc., for kids. I had booked for two days before our flight to be closer to the airport, so I didn't cancel the reservation. Plus, I wanted to see the planes take off and land.
What I didn't like: The closed water park, constant renovations, fences everywhere, and the noise of drills. The additional facilities for kids didn't compensate for why we booked it in the first place for our 12 and 13-year-olds; they wanted a water park, not an inflatable trampoline for toddlers. The beach was dirty; at least they could have cleaned the trash from the hotel's section of the shore. In the balcony room, it was unbearable to sleep because the balcony door didn't close tightly. Consequently, the noise from the planes taking off made it impossible to sleep, even on the 7th floor of building 9.
MINUS: The climate control panel was by the door. In another hotel we stayed at before this one, it was by the bed, so at night, I could turn the AC and lights on and off by feel.
PLUSES: Because the water park was closed, upon our request, they upgraded our room category and gave us a large room in building 1. So, we spent our second night there as a family. It had two AC units and a lot of space.
The breakfast was good, with plenty of variety!
The area was CLEAN and well-maintained, but it didn't have that 'wow' factor.
You can't swim at the beach. You have to walk about 2 km towards the 'coral graveyard,' where you can snorkel and see fish, but bottles and trash will accompany you the whole way.
Overall, this hotel didn't impress us. Its main advantage is being 20 minutes from the airport.FromAED 116

The resort has 2 pools, and most rooms are pool-access. The price before Chinese New Year was 440 a night, which is decent value for money. It's very close to Rawai Beach, with a 7-Eleven and sea-view restaurants right outside. Now for the downsides: 1. No clothes rack in the room, so no way to wash and dry clothes. 2. The hotel doesn't offer breakfast. 3. For a family of three, there's an extra charge of 150 THB for the child, but no extra bed is provided. 4. I subtly got the feeling that Chinese guests aren't particularly welcome. This is just my personal feeling and for reference only.FromAED 74

A nice little hotel for a rest after a long journey!
I chose this hotel with my child so we could quickly get there after a long flight. Our plane landed at 11 PM. By the time you clear passport control, get picked up, and take a shower, it's already 1 AM.
This is a good option! The linens are clean cotton! There's hot water! A 7-Eleven and massage place are a leisurely 7-minute walk away. They change the linens, towels, and water every day. We needed two days to recover, and extending our stay was easy. The pool is clean. Breakfast is European style: omelets, sausages, ham, some Thai dish (chicken in sauce), rice, toast, croissants, jams, butter, coffee, tea, cocktails, juices. It's a perfectly good breakfast. The cost is 250 (baht, presumably).
Of course, if you're used to staying in luxury hotels and have high demands, you might want to think twice. I've stayed in various categories of hotels, from four-star resorts to beach bungalows. I've been to places where they didn't change the bed linen. Here, it's clean, and the staff are incredibly welcoming and lovely! Everyone is ready to help. Everyone always smiles. Many reviews mention drawbacks, but I won't even discuss those. It's clean, clean, clean, and the staff are as welcoming as can be.
It's a good place to rest after traveling, get used to the local vibe a bit, and acclimatize to the warmth! All user photos of the hotel are accurate; I'll add a few more myself :)FromAED 79

Facilities: This was our first time bringing our child to Phuket. We initially booked The Emerald in Karon, but then I read reviews saying that while it was new, the pool felt a bit cramped between the two buildings. So, I checked out more reviews and decisively switched to the established Old Phuket Karon Beach Resort, which has a more resort-like vibe! It boasts a super large pool water park, and there's even a dedicated children's area with a small water slide 🛝 for toddlers, which is fantastic!
Cleanliness: As an older five-star hotel, the decor is a bit dated, so the rooms feel a little old, but overall cleanliness is quite good. There were no issues with small animals or anything like that, unlike some online reviews suggested.
Environment: As always, I've attached pictures; beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Service: The front desk service was excellent. We booked island hopping tours daily, and they picked us up at the front desk each day. On the first day, I was unfamiliar with the area and worried about finding the driver, so a staff member proactively helped us check our itinerary and contacted the driver via phone to clarify things in Thai! Thumbs up!
One more thing I absolutely must mention: The Old Phuket Karon Beach Resort's location is arguably the most convenient in the Karon area. Right outside, there's a small commercial street with massage parlors, fruit stalls, Thai food, and seafood – everything you could want! Plus, turn right out of the hotel and walk just 30 meters, and you're at the stunning Karon Beach in minutes. There's also a 🚌 bus stop right outside that goes to Phuket Town, which is much more convenient than Centara Karon Resort Phuket!FromAED 263

I've stayed at this hotel many times, but this was by far the worst experience. I was traveling with my child and, due to a schedule change, I had to book two separate orders for different room types. I explained the situation to the front desk and asked if I could upgrade my room by paying the difference. The front desk lady, seeing the booking, seemed to sense an opportunity to make more money. She then rattled off a bunch of reasons to charge me extra for my child: an extra bed fee, an extra breakfast fee, and a room upgrade fee – totaling 5000 baht for four days! When I checked the app, I realized that for just a few tens of extra bucks, I could have booked a whole new room. The hotel's breakfast fee also shot up from 250 baht to 470 baht per person, with no significant improvement in quality. A cozy, medium-sized hotel shaped like a cruise ship. The definite highlight of this hotel is the infinity pool on the rooftop, offering a fantastic view of the city and the sea, especially at night. A DJ entertains guests with music by the pool in the evening. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The only downside for me was having a bathtub instead of a shower. The fridge only contained paid bar drinks. You can walk from the hotel to the beach, passing countless cafes, restaurants, massage parlors, and convenience stores along the way. The service was excellent. The staff kept the building clean, the breakfast buffet team was great and the atmosphere was amazing. The only things I didn’t enjoy was how understaffed the beach bar seemed because we had to constantly ask when our food would be finished because it was taking so long. I assumed it was understaffed in the kitchen. Ask the lobster bruschetta was not actually lobster, but shrimp. Unsure if it’s a language barrier thing or they stopped using lobster for it and just didn’t change the menu to reflect that. It tasted great, but perhaps the price would be different if it was labeled what it actually was. The room was so nice and clean! Cleaning ladies came by daily and every single person working there was unbelievably friendly and kind. I will most definitely go back just for the hotel alone! The hotel close to everything, including many different beaches. One thing to keep in mind, even though the hotel is on a beach front, you can’t swim in that particular beach, but they do have a pool on site! 10/10 🤩FromAED 111

The hotel's location is quite good; you can walk directly to Karon Beach from the hotel, and it's not far from Kata Night Market, just a few minutes' walk away. Many of the hotel staff can speak Chinese, so communication was mostly hassle-free. Although the rooms have a wooden structure, they are elevated, so even though it's near the sea, there's no feeling of dampness. The breakfast was decent. The 'Red Chopsticks' restaurant at the entrance is also good. Our room package included dinner, though we didn't eat there every day. Woody and the team at Bandara took great care of us. The staff were incredibly helpful with anything we needed from booking excursions to ensuring my sister’s dietary restrictions were catered for. The facilities were well maintained and the rooms we had were a comfortable size for us. Beds were also very comfortable.
Whilst Panwa is a bit removed from the hustle and bustle of Phuket, it was the perfect relaxing escape for us. There are still plenty of eateries and things to do near by.
